Budimex, together with the investor \u2013 the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways and the Ministry of Infrastructure, officially opened the S61 Wysokie \u2013 Raczki section on\u00a03 January 2022. The twenty-kilometre section of the new expressway is the first completed section of the Via Baltica route in\u00a0the province of Bydgoszcz. Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship <\/strong><\/p>\n

Construction began in\u00a0October 2019. As\u00a0part of the investment, 20.17 km of expressway with a\u00a0concrete surface and a\u00a0permissible load of 115 kN\/axle (11.5 tons per axle), the WB type \u201cWysokie\u201d junction (collision-free) with 2 roundabouts, as\u00a0well as\u00a031 access roads with a\u00a0total length of 32.36 km (with aggregate or\u00a0bituminous surface), 25 engineering structures \u2013 bridges, road viaducts, animal crossings and ecological culverts were completed. The scope of the task also included the reconstruction of 7 roads intersecting with the main route, with a\u00a0length of 6.22 km.<\/p>\n

During the implementation, 150 thousand. m3 of concrete and 2 thousand.\u00a0 tons of reinforcing steel. About 3 million m3 of earthworks were completed. The value of the completed works is PLN 575 million (gross).<\/p>\n

Andrzej Adamczyk \u2013 Minister of Infrastructure: This road will contribute to\u00a0the development of two regions: Podlaskie and Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The S61 section was put into service four months ahead of schedule. The section of the S61 that is being opened shows that we\u00a0already have modern roads, often better than those in\u00a0the west. I\u00a0would like to\u00a0thank all the employees of the investor, the contract engineer, the general contractor, who left a\u00a0part of their lives on\u00a0this road. <\/em><\/p>\n

Cezary \u0141ysenko \u2013 Director of Infrastructure Construction at\u00a0Budimex: We\u00a0are finishing the construction 4 months before the deadline. Budimex constructs 40% of the length of Via Baltica routes. The newly created road was made in\u00a0a\u00a0cement concrete surface. For the contractor, this is a\u00a0more difficult investment to\u00a0implement. The work also coincided with the pandemic period. Despite these difficulties, we\u00a0show that it is possible to\u00a0complete construction works on\u00a0time with good cooperation with the investor, administration and local communities. <\/em><\/p>\n

Budimex has also completed other sections of the S61 route in\u00a0the Podlaskie Voivodeship: Stawiski \u2013 Szczuczyn bypass in\u00a02021 and the Suwa\u0142ki bypass in\u00a02019. \u00a0Budimex is also building the S61 Suwa\u0142ki \u2013 Budzisko section. The planned completion of the construction of this part of Via Baltica is in\u00a0autumn 2022.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n
