We\u00a0are very pleased with the results achieved in\u00a02021. Despite the difficult market conditions caused by\u00a0the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and rising prices of key materials, we\u00a0recorded an increase in\u00a0the Group\u2019s gross profit in\u00a0continuing operations (i.e. construction and services) from PLN 427 million in\u00a02020 to\u00a0PLN 554 million in\u00a02021, while improving profitability from 5.5% to\u00a07.0%. Such a\u00a0good result is the result of an improvement in\u00a0the result of the construction part, as\u00a0well as\u00a0the settlement of the result on\u00a0transactions between the construction and development segments in\u00a0the amount of PLN 68 million in\u00a0connection with the sale of Budimex Nieruchomo\u015bci.<\/p>\n

We\u00a0recorded an increase in\u00a0the Group\u2019s sales revenues. Revenues in\u00a0the services segment grew at\u00a0a\u00a0double-digit rate (+28%) for another year in\u00a0a\u00a0row, while in\u00a0the construction segment we\u00a0recorded a\u00a0slight decrease (-3%), while in\u00a0the fourth quarter alone, in\u00a0line with our expectations, revenues in\u00a0the construction segment were higher by\u00a07% compared to\u00a0the same period of the previous year.<\/p>\n

Construction and assembly production in\u00a02021 (at\u00a0current prices) increased by\u00a07.9% year-on-year from PLN 108.5 billion in\u00a02020 to\u00a0PLN 117.1 billion in\u00a02021. In\u00a0the buildings segment, sold production increased by\u00a05.0%, while in\u00a0the infrastructure area the increase was as\u00a0much as\u00a010.7%.<\/p>\n

\n \"Construction\n <\/p>\n

As\u00a0part of the general construction, the value of sold production increased both in\u00a0the residential (+7.2%) and non-residential (+3.7%) parts. In\u00a0most areas of non-residential construction, growth was recorded (hotels +9.7%, office buildings +11.6%, industrial buildings +16.6%). The decrease in\u00a0the scale of annual production concerned mainly commercial and service construction (-16.0%). The value of sold production of civil engineering construction increased in\u00a0all areas (roads, railways, hydrotechnics, gas and energy transmission) except for the part related to\u00a0airports. <\/p>\n

\n The sales of the construction segment of the Budimex Group amounted to\u00a0PLN 7,282 million (-3.4% y\/y), while recording an improvement in\u00a0gross profitability from 4.9% to\u00a05.6%.<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

The scale of sales revenues generated in\u00a02021 in\u00a0the construction segment is slightly lower than in\u00a0the corresponding period of the previous year. It is worth noting that the dynamics of decline in\u00a0the first half of the year amounted to\u00a0-10.4% (due to\u00a0unfavorable weather conditions in\u00a0the first quarter and also due to\u00a0the time of the pandemic extended waiting time related to\u00a0obtaining a\u00a0building permit for several important orders in\u00a0the road area, and in\u00a0the second half of the year it was positive and reached +2.3% compared to\u00a0the same period of 2020.<\/p>\n

The lower level of contracting in\u00a02021 was mainly due to\u00a0a\u00a0lower number of tenders in\u00a0the railway construction segment. We\u00a0hope that the change in\u00a0the sources of financing railway investments and the newly announced tenders at\u00a0the beginning of 2022 will fundamentally change this situation. The gross margin of the construction segment amounted to\u00a05.6% and was higher compared to\u00a0the corresponding period of the previous year, when it amounted to\u00a04.9%.
<\/strong><\/p>\n

After a\u00a0period of intense growth, we\u00a0are currently observing a\u00a0stabilization of material prices. On\u00a0the contracts signed by\u00a0the company in\u00a02020, stabilised profitability is possible thanks to\u00a0the mechanisms of partial indexation, as\u00a0well as\u00a0the policy of hedging the prices of key product ranges.<\/p>\n

In\u00a02021, we\u00a0obtained contracts worth over PLN 7 billion. Our priority, invariably, is to\u00a0take care of the profitability of the order portfolio. In\u00a0the \u201cwaiting room\u201d we\u00a0have new orders worth over PLN 2 billion. At\u00a0the end of December 2021, the value of the order book reached PLN 13 billion.<\/p>\n

The Budimex Group ended 2021 with a\u00a0net cash position of PLN 2.6 billion. <\/strong>In\u00a0June 2021. We\u00a0paid a\u00a0dividend of PLN 426 million, which amounted to\u00a0PLN 16.70 per share. In\u00a0addition, on\u00a018 October 2021, we\u00a0paid an interim dividend for 2021 in\u00a0the amount of PLN 14.90 per share (over PLN 380 million). It was the thirteenth year in\u00a0a\u00a0row that we\u00a0shared the profit with shareholders.<\/p>\n

\n 2021 was another year of intensive growth of the FBSerwis Group, which significantly increased sales revenues while maintaining high profitability.<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

\n <\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

The revenues of the FBSerwis Group, which is a\u00a0key asset in\u00a0the services segment (the results of the service part also include the activities of Budimex Parking Wroc\u0142aw) amounted to\u00a0PLN 780 million and increased by\u00a027.9% compared to\u00a0the previous year. The sales volume achieved was much higher than our plans, which was mainly due to\u00a0increased volumes in\u00a0the waste management segment. Gross profit amounted to\u00a0PLN 81 million compared to\u00a0PLN 74 million in\u00a02020.<\/p>\n

We\u00a0are working on\u00a0increasing the economic potential of the FBSerwis Group, among others through investments in\u00a0the expansion of existing waste processing installations and landfills. Thanks to\u00a0this, we\u00a0are able to\u00a0increase the scale of operations, using the resources we\u00a0already have. Acquisition projects are also being carried out independently. At\u00a0the moment, we\u00a0are looking for companies that will help us carry out our current tasks and at\u00a0the same time contribute to\u00a0increasing sales revenues so that in\u00a02026 we\u00a0will reach 1 billion while maintaining the level of profitability.<\/p>\n

\n We\u00a0end 2021 with a\u00a0high order backlog of PLN 13 billion.<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

Analyzing the level of contracts, in\u00a0the \u201cwaiting room\u201d that we\u00a0plan to\u00a0sign in\u00a0the coming months, we\u00a0have a\u00a0largely secured work front until the end of 2023, which is why we\u00a0are selective about new offers, reliably and responsibly calculating cost estimates, especially in\u00a0an environment of dynamically changing prices.<\/p>\n

2021 brought significant increases in\u00a0the cost of materials, especially in\u00a0the first two quarters. Currently, the prices of key assortments do\u00a0not show such volatility, but due to\u00a0the rising prices of fuel, energy and CO2 allowances, we\u00a0should prepare for further increases, probably not as\u00a0drastic as\u00a0last year. We\u00a0positively assess the impact of indexation clauses, which at\u00a0least partially compensate for the increase in\u00a0material prices. However, we\u00a0can see that in\u00a0the current macroeconomic situation, the indexation limit at\u00a0the level of 5% is insufficient. We\u00a0are glad that the contracting authorities are raising this limit for new contracts.<\/p>\n

2021 was a\u00a0period of intensive development of the Budimex Group and preparations for geographical expansion in\u00a0accordance with internal assumptions. As\u00a0part of the planned activities on\u00a0the German, Czech and Slovak markets, we\u00a0have established special purpose vehicles. We\u00a0have signed the first order on\u00a0the German market. The next milestone will be\u00a0winning a\u00a0contract on\u00a0the Czech and Slovak markets, where our goal is primarily\u00a0 road and hydrotechnical projects.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0line with the chosen direction of development of the Budimex Group, we\u00a0are consistently working on\u00a0photovoltaic and wind farm projects, both onshore and offshore. On\u00a0February 22, 2022, we\u00a0finalized the acquisition of a\u00a0company implementing a\u00a0project to\u00a0build a\u00a0wind farm with a\u00a0capacity of up to\u00a07 MW. This is the first, very important step for us, which means Budimex\u2019s entry into the electricity generation segment
renewable energy sources in\u00a0high-capacity projects. The new project in\u00a0Budimex\u2019s portfolio provides for the construction of a\u00a0wind farm consisting of 2 wind turbines with an estimated annual production of more than 25 GWh.<\/p>\n

Our goal in\u00a0the coming year is to\u00a0maintain our leading position in\u00a0key segments of the construction market. Looking at\u00a0the current order backlog, we\u00a0expect that the next quarters, and consequently the entire year 2022, should bring a\u00a0high level of sales. Last year, we\u00a0also completed several difficult contracts, which should allow us to\u00a0achieve profitability above market indicators.<\/p>\n

We\u00a0plan to\u00a0continue investing in\u00a0RES while entering selected foreign markets, in\u00a0line with the development directions adopted by\u00a0the Budimex Group. A\u00a0high cash position, including m.in.\u00a0cash from the sale of Budimex Nieruchomo\u015bci, provides a\u00a0wide range of investment opportunities that will support entry into new areas.<\/p>\n

The Budimex Group also invests in\u00a0innovative solutions, including green technologies, i.e.: to\u00a0reduce the carbon footprint. We\u00a0plan that by\u00a02030 all the energy we\u00a0use will be\u00a0obtained from green sources. We\u00a0are also analyzing investments in\u00a0young technology companies operating pro-environmentally. As\u00a0part of the Budimex Startup Challenge, we\u00a0have selected 5 companies and committed ourselves to\u00a0cooperate with them.<\/p>\n

We\u00a0approach our projects reliably and take care of timeliness, but we\u00a0do\u00a0not forget about creativity and innovation, constantly striving to\u00a0develop key areas of the Company\u2019s operations and increase its competitiveness. We\u00a0are currently testing the possibilities of reusing construction waste, e.g. reclaimed asphalt in\u00a0the construction process, replacing classic materials with composites or\u00a0ecological substitutes, and we\u00a0are also using the possibilities of prefabrication. We\u00a0are increasingly using modern technologies such as\u00a0drones, 3D scanning, robotization of processes, BIM or\u00a0advanced investment management software.<\/p>\n

Despite the demanding environment, we\u00a0keep our contractual obligations and carry out the tasks entrusted to\u00a0us in\u00a0accordance with the regulations, while taking care of quality and maintaining the highest environmental and social standards. In\u00a02021, our efforts were recognized with numerous awards, including the Sustainable Economy Diamonds competition in\u00a0the Sustainable Construction Leader category. We\u00a0also won as\u00a0many as\u00a0five Construction of the Year 2020 awards, the most among all general contractors. Our construction of a\u00a0new unit at\u00a0the Tur\u00f3w power plant was recognized by\u00a0the National Labour Inspectorate as\u00a0the safest construction site in\u00a02021.<\/p>\n

Budimex has also been carrying out projects for its sustainable development for years. In\u00a02021, we\u00a0announced the \u201cCSR Strategy for 2021\u20132023\u201d, which refers to\u00a0the UN Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n

Despite the ongoing pandemic, in\u00a02021 we\u00a0continued to\u00a0develop our original social programs, i.e.: \u201cParent Zone. Budimex for Children\u201d and \u201cHello ICE. Budimex for Children\u201d. As\u00a0part of Hello ICE, last year more 3D belts were created in\u00a04 locations, and over 1700 children took part in\u00a0safety days organized by\u00a0the company. So far, Budimex has launched 39 Parent Zones in\u00a0Polish hospitals in\u00a0children\u2019s wards. In\u00a02021, 5 Parent Zones were created (in\u00a0Bia\u0142ystok, \u015awiecie, Lublin, W\u0142oc\u0142awek and \u015aroda \u015al\u0105ska).<\/p>\n

Last year, we\u00a0also started the second edition of the \u201cHouse from the Heart\u201d program, under which we\u00a0join forces with other companies to\u00a0build, equip and donate a\u00a0house for a\u00a0large family in\u00a0need from Brusy, in\u00a0the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The new home will be\u00a0a\u00a0living space where children will have the right conditions to\u00a0learn and develop their talents. This project \u2013 a\u00a0gesture of the heart \u2013 aims to\u00a0help large families in\u00a0a\u00a0difficult financial situation, and at\u00a0the same time encourages other companies to\u00a0initiate similar aid activities aimed at\u00a0this group of people in\u00a0need.<\/p>\n

The net result from continued operations of PLN 451 million, achieved for another year in\u00a0a\u00a0row, allows us to\u00a0further strengthen the Group\u2019s stable position and provides a\u00a0positive perspective for its further effective operation.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
