Budimex \u2013 the general contractor of the new Warszawa Zachodnia station \u2013 has moved to\u00a0the next key phase of works \u2013 track and bridge works on\u00a0the western side of the station. A\u00a0new eighth platform of the station was also put into use. Construction works related to\u00a0the tunnel connecting platforms 1-8 with platform No. 9 of the ring line are nearing completion. On\u00a0the western side of the station, two concrete bridge structures with a\u00a0total volume of 30 thousand m3 are being built. A\u00a0completely new track and turnout system will be\u00a0built in\u00a0these places, ensuring greater capacity of trains going west and south. The progress of the entire work has already exceeded 38%.<\/p>\n

The works at\u00a0the Warszawa Zachodnia station are one of the largest investments of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. for over PLN 1.9 billion net. Implemented as\u00a0part of the OPI&E 5.1-13 project entitled: \u201cWorks on\u00a0the cross-city line in\u00a0Warsaw on\u00a0the section Warszawa Wschodnia \u2013 Warszawa Zachodnia\u201d.\u00a0 Work began in\u00a0December 2020. The completion of the investment is planned for 2023.<\/p>\n

Warszawa Zachodnia is a\u00a0strategic station in\u00a0Poland in\u00a0terms of the number of trains running. On\u00a0average, about 1000 agglomeration, regional, long-distance national and international trains pass through it daily.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n
