Budimex won the prestigious Top Builder award for the construction of the PKN Orlen Research and Development Centre in P\u0142ock. On Wednesday, April 20, at the Olympic Center in Warsaw, the jury of the competition selected the most innovative and high-quality products in the Polish construction industry. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The title of Top Builder \u2013 valued by the industry for many years \u2013 was awarded by the Editors and Scientific Council of the Builder monthly for the 14th time. awarded investors, architects, general contractors and manufacturers for outstanding projects and solutions on the Polish construction market.<\/p>\n

Thank you for this distinction. In accordance with PKN Orlen\u2019s expectations and in connection with its functions, the complex of buildings included in the R&D Centre had to be adapted to the research specifics of the refining and petrochemical industry and meet the highest construction requirements. We would also like to thank the investor PKN Orlen, who was a demanding but good investor<\/em> \u2013 said Marek Janowski, Commercial Director in the General Construction Division of Budimex, during the award ceremony. The award was also received by Artur Adamus \u2013 Contract Director.<\/p>\n

The contract with the investor was signed in April 2019. Construction was completed in June 2021. \u00a0The investment was carried out in the EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) formula. In addition to the project, Budimex\u2019s task was also to build and equip the Centre\u2019s turnkey buildings along with the commissioning of the supplied equipment, m.in. measuring and laboratory equipment.<\/p>\n

The investment consists of eight facilities. The complex of office and industrial buildings combining research and warehouse functions includes m.in. a technical building with a laboratory, research and testing facilities with a mapping and piloting hall with an area of nearly 2000 m\u00b2, test and raw materials warehouse buildings. As part of the investment, an external warehouse with an installation for preparing fuel mixtures was also built, as well as an office building, which is the administrative base of the entire complex and all the necessary technical infrastructure. The construction works carried out by Budimex also included the construction of infrastructure accompanying the buildings: internal roads, car parks and manoeuvring areas. The R&D Centre is located on an area of 43,000 m2.<\/p>\n

Top Builder is one of the most prestigious awards on the Polish construction market. For buildings distinguished by the high quality of the designed architecture, often timeless form, reliability of workmanship, requiring high qualifications and industry specialization, with quality certificates of modern materials used in the buildings and interesting pro-ecological solutions.<\/p>\n
