Work on\u00a0the construction of the Goleni\u00f3w-Ciecierzyce\u00a0 gas pipeline, which is part of the Baltic Pipe project implemented by\u00a0GAZ-SYSTEM, is the longest, nearly 122 kilometres long, onshore section of the gas pipeline, which will enable the supply of gas from Norwegian fields to\u00a0Polish.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a\u00a0very important contract for us, both because of the scale, as\u00a0we\u00a0are responsible for the construction of the longest onshore section of the Baltic Pipe, and the need to\u00a0ensure the highest quality of the gas pipeline. At\u00a0the same time, despite the difficult situation on\u00a0the construction materials market and the outflow of Ukrainian workers, we\u00a0managed to\u00a0maintain a\u00a0high pace of work. Therefore, everything indicates that the section we\u00a0are building, along with the accompanying facilities, will receive an occupancy permit as\u00a0early as\u00a0July. The Baltic Pipe project implemented by\u00a0GAZ-SYSTEM is a\u00a0strategic element of our country\u2019s infrastructure, which will strengthen the country\u2019s energy security. We\u00a0are all the more pleased that as\u00a0the largest Polish construction company we\u00a0can take part in\u00a0it<\/em>. \u2013 says Artur Popko, President of the Management Board of Budimex S.A., the general contractor of the section.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0June, Budimex plans to\u00a0carry out the technical acceptance with the Investor \u2013\u00a0 one month before the contractual deadline. In\u00a0June and July, the section will be\u00a0gassed and commissioned, and the occupancy permit should be\u00a0obtained in\u00a0July.<\/p>\n

This is the third contract that we\u00a0are performing for GAZ-SYSTEM. This experience allows us to\u00a0maintain a\u00a0high pace of work while ensuring the appropriate quality of workmanship. As\u00a0in\u00a0the case of the section of the gas pipeline to\u00a0Slovakia that we\u00a0are implementing, we\u00a0also plan to\u00a0complete the Baltic Pipe section ahead of schedule, although there were many engineering challenges. To\u00a0avoid ground obstacles, such as\u00a0rivers or\u00a0roads, we\u00a0required us to\u00a0make 55 trenchless crossings, using microtunneling, drilling and jacking methods, and\u00a0 4 crossings using the latest Direct Pipe technology. This is how the drillings under the Ina, Pe\u0142cz and Kr\u0105piel rivers were created, and the last one, the longest in\u00a0Poland, under the Warta River, 1400 m long.<\/em> \u2013 says Piotr \u015awiecki, Director of Energy Construction at\u00a0Budimex.<\/p>\n

The technologies used by\u00a0Budimex allow for minimally invasive crossing of difficult geological or\u00a0urbanisation areas, so they are the most environmentally friendly and speed up the implementation of works. The drilling under the Warta River at\u00a0its lowest point is located at\u00a0a\u00a0depth of up to\u00a040 m. In\u00a0the remaining sections, the gas pipeline was laid at\u00a0a\u00a0depth of at\u00a0least 1.2 metres in\u00a0a\u00a0properly prepared trench, in\u00a0some sections secured with sheet piling due to\u00a0the prevailing geological conditions. The pipeline is also accompanied by\u00a0appropriate infrastructure and technological facilities.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0addition to\u00a0the pipeline itself, nearly 122 km long, connected by\u00a0approx. 8 thousand welds, we\u00a0also completed four technological facilities: the expansion of the Goleni\u00f3w Gas Compressor Station by\u00a0a\u00a0piston transmitting lock unit and the construction of shut-off and relief systems in\u00a0Kolonia Kiczarowo, Przywodzie and Busz\u00f3w. We\u00a0are currently preparing the gas pipeline to\u00a0be\u00a0connected to\u00a0the facility parts at\u00a0both ends of the section. The entire pipeline is already laid in\u00a0the ground, it has also passed all pressure tests, we\u00a0have completed seam and assembly welding. We\u00a0have made guaranteed welds at\u00a0the boundaries of the test sections and we\u00a0are now at\u00a0the stage of work consisting in\u00a0testing the gas pipeline with a\u00a0geometric piston, so that in\u00a0June we\u00a0can carry out the Technical Acceptance, start gassing and commissioning with the Investor<\/em> \u2013 says Szczepan Konopczak, Contract Manager from Budimex.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0the Investor\u2019s announcements, the Baltic Pipe gas\u00a0 transmission is to\u00a0be\u00a0launched\u00a0 in\u00a0October 2022. The scope of the 122-kilometre investment carried out by\u00a0Budimex includes, among others:<\/p>\n
