The progress of works at\u00a0the E\u0142k railway station is approaching the halfway point<\/h2>\n

After 9. months of work, the progress in\u00a0the modernization of the E\u0142k station has reached 40% of its progress. On\u00a0average, approx. 100 units of equipment and nearly 200 people. <\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Currently, construction works on\u00a0the viaducts, installation of rails and construction of the overhead contact line are underway. A\u00a0new tunnel under the platforms is under construction. Three new platform edges for passengers have already been built (two at\u00a0the E\u0142k station and one at\u00a0the E\u0142k Szyba stop). The Local Railway Traffic Control Centre is also being built.<\/p>\n

The work front at\u00a0the E\u0142k station is fully developed. Work is underway practically along the entire length of the station<\/em> \u2013 says Maciej Olek, Director of the Railway Construction Division at\u00a0Budimex. We\u00a0signed the contract in\u00a0the design and build system for the modernization of the E\u0142k station on\u00a0August 26, 2021. The deadline for the order is 28 months. The warranty period is 5 years. After the Czechowice Dziedzice station and the Warszawa Zachodnia station, the E\u0142k junction is another one implemented by\u00a0Budimex SA \u2013<\/em> adds Maciej Olek.<\/p>\n

The scope of the investment includes:<\/p>\n

\u2013 reconstruction of railway tracks with a\u00a0total length of 38.3 km (including 3.8 as\u00a0an option) together with subgrade and drainage as\u00a0well as\u00a0Railway Control Devices at\u00a0the E\u0142k Passenger and E\u0142k Towarowy stations,<\/p>\n

\u2013 construction of 118 turnouts (including 2 as\u00a0an option),<\/p>\n

\u2013 construction of 5 platforms (including 2 options); a\u00a0total of 2600m of edge (400m as\u00a0an option) adapted to\u00a0the needs of people with disabilities with full infrastructure,<\/p>\n

\u2013 reconstruction of the overhead contact line and the network and lines with railway power equipment,<\/p>\n

\u2013 construction of a\u00a0control room building at\u00a0the E\u0142k station with new equipment,<\/p>\n

\u2013 we\u00a0will rebuild the sanitary infrastructure, rainwater drainage system and teletechnical networks.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0terms of engineering structures, the construction of:<\/p>\n
