After 9. months of work, the progress in the modernization of the E\u0142k station has reached 40% of its progress. On average, approx. 100 units of equipment and nearly 200 people. <\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Currently, construction works on the viaducts, installation of rails and construction of the overhead contact line are underway. A new tunnel under the platforms is under construction. Three new platform edges for passengers have already been built (two at the E\u0142k station and one at the E\u0142k Szyba stop). The Local Railway Traffic Control Centre is also being built.<\/p>\n

The work front at the E\u0142k station is fully developed. Work is underway practically along the entire length of the station<\/em> \u2013 says Maciej Olek, Director of the Railway Construction Division at Budimex. We signed the contract in the design and build system for the modernization of the E\u0142k station on August 26, 2021. The deadline for the order is 28 months. The warranty period is 5 years. After the Czechowice Dziedzice station and the Warszawa Zachodnia station, the E\u0142k junction is another one implemented by Budimex SA \u2013<\/em> adds Maciej Olek.<\/p>\n

The scope of the investment includes:<\/p>\n

\u2013 reconstruction of railway tracks with a total length of 38.3 km (including 3.8 as an option) together with subgrade and drainage as well as Railway Control Devices at the E\u0142k Passenger and E\u0142k Towarowy stations,<\/p>\n

\u2013 construction of 118 turnouts (including 2 as an option),<\/p>\n

\u2013 construction of 5 platforms (including 2 options); a total of 2600m of edge (400m as an option) adapted to the needs of people with disabilities with full infrastructure,<\/p>\n

\u2013 reconstruction of the overhead contact line and the network and lines with railway power equipment,<\/p>\n

\u2013 construction of a control room building at the E\u0142k station with new equipment,<\/p>\n

\u2013 we will rebuild the sanitary infrastructure, rainwater drainage system and teletechnical networks.<\/p>\n
