On\u00a007.11.2022, a\u00a0symbolic groundbreaking ceremony was carried out and works began on\u00a0the nine-kilometre O\u015bwi\u0119cim bypass built by\u00a0Budimex. The construction will include the construction of a\u00a0national road of the 44th class GP constituting the O\u015bwi\u0119cim bypass connecting with the\u00a0S1\u00a0expressway Mys\u0142owice \u2013 Bielsko-Bia\u0142a in\u00a0the area of the O\u015bwi\u0119cim junction.<\/p>\n

The Project and Build Contract was concluded with the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, Krak\u00f3w Branch, on\u00a010.07.2020, and the application for the issuance of the ZRID was submitted in\u00a0accordance with the Contract on\u00a010.05.2021.<\/p>\n

The construction will be\u00a0carried out in\u00a0the immediate vicinity of Natura 2000 areas and over the water intake for the municipality and city of O\u015bwi\u0119cim \u201cZasole\u201d The bypass is also located in\u00a0the immediate vicinity of the former German Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. Therefore, the project had to\u00a0take into account the provisions and requirements of the UNESCO Heritage Impact Assessment Report.<\/p>\n

Due to\u00a0the requirements of the Unesco Report regarding the protection of the Auschwitz\/Birkenau memorial site, acoustic protection such as\u00a0earth embankments and earth and panel screens were designed. Lowered road lighting and luminaires with directional light distribution to\u00a0the road surface were also used to\u00a0minimize light dispersion off the road. Greenery was designed to\u00a0visually isolate the O\u015bwi\u0119cim bypass from observation points in\u00a0historically sensitive places.<\/em><\/p>\n

During the design process, thanks to\u00a0the efforts of the Contract, an additional advanced analysis of visibility from the Auschwitz Museum to\u00a0the future road<\/em>\u00a0 was carried out\u2013 says Pawe\u0142 Zawi\u0142a, Budimex Contract Director.<\/p>\n

For this purpose, a\u00a0field model with greenery was recreated using photogrammetry using drones, a\u00a0visualization of the designed security elements such as\u00a0screens and earth embankments was added, and a\u00a0simulation was carried out from the camp zone whether elements of road infrastructure or\u00a0tall vehicles would be\u00a0visible with such selected protections. The analysis confirmed the correct selection of the route grade and the effectiveness of the designed protections and was highly evaluated by\u00a0the international Unesco Commission<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 adds Pawe\u0142 Zawi\u0142a.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

As\u00a0part of the investment, the following will be\u00a0carried out:<\/p>\n

\u2013 9 km of dual carriageway GP class road with accompanying infrastructure and traffic safety and environmental protection equipment<\/p>\n

\u2013 5 intersections<\/p>\n

\u2013 Bridge over the Vistula River, 432 m long, built in\u00a0the longitudinal sliding technology<\/p>\n

\u2013 WK2 Viaduct \u2013 Passage under the active LK93 and LK882 railway line.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2013 Bridge over the Sola River, Zasole water intake and Kamieniec pond 463m long, built in\u00a0overhang technology with the longest span of 140m<\/p>\n

\u2013 Reconstruction of a\u00a010.1 km long high-voltage line<\/p>\n

\u2013 Reconstruction of the gas pipeline<\/p>\n

\u2013 Construction and reconstruction of local roads with a\u00a0length of 16.1 km<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n
