On 24 November, the construction of the Tri-City Metropolitan Bypass was inaugurated. Budimex is starting earthworks on the main line of the new route. Previously, the company carried out logging, archaeological, geodetic and preparatory works. The general contractor will complete the contract worth\u00a0over PLN 581 million net within\u00a038 months of\u00a0signing the contract, excluding\u00a0winter periods, i.e. by March 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The construction of the OMT was divided into two parts. The first task carried out by Budimex is the 16.3 km long section of the Chwaszczyno junction (without the junction) \u2013 the \u017bukowo junction (without the junction).\u00a0 By 2025, a dual carriageway expressway will be built, with two lanes in\u00a0each direction and with\u00a0a reserve for the third lane, the \u201cMiszewo\u201d and \u201cChwaszczyno\u201d road junctions, the Miszewo road circuit, as well\u00a0as m.in. 25\u00a0engineering structures. The contract is being implemented by Budimex in the\u00a0\u201cDesign and\u00a0Build\u201d formula.<\/p>\n

Budimex has signed a contract with\u00a0the General Directorate for National Roads and\u00a0Motorways, Gda\u0144sk Branch\u00a0, for the construction of another section of the S6 expressway as\u00a0part of the project entitled: \u201cConstruction of the Tri-City Metropolitan Bypass\u201d in\u00a0April 2021. The contract, worth\u00a0over PLN 581 million net, will be completed by the general contractor within\u00a038 months from signing the contract, excluding\u00a0winter periods, i.e. by March 2025. The contract was signed on the S6 Luzino-Szemud section implemented by Budimex, which is a continuation of the planned Tri-City Metropolitan Bypass.\u00a0 As part of the\u00a0investment, Budimex will be responsible for the implementation of approx.\u00a016.3 km of the Tri-City Metropolitan Bypass, which is part of the S6 expressway.<\/p>\n

\u2013 I would like to thank the contractors for their efforts, over 20 engineering structures. The bypass is being built by two contractors who guarantee good and timely implementation of this investment. I wish Polish engineers on this construction site good and\u00a0safe work<\/em> \u2013 says Andrzej Adamczyk, Minister of Infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, the OMT will be about 39 km long and\u00a0will enable efficient passage from\u00a0the A1 and S7 motorways to\u00a0the west and\u00a0north of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, leading transit traffic to further sections of the S6 route towards\u00a0L\u0119bork, S\u0142upsk and\u00a0Koszalin. The bypass under construction will also be of strategic importance for transport within\u00a0\u017bukowo and Chwaszczyna and\u00a0will relieve traffic on the existing S6 expressway of the Tri-City Bypass.<\/p>\n

\u2013 The implementation of the contract includes<\/em> 3 million m3 in the field of earthworks with the use of 26 engineering structures, 6.5 thousand tons of steel, 45 thousand m3 of concrete and 280 thousand tons of wearing surface. We perform these works using our own equipment, m.in. reconstruction of underground collisions, which we have just started. 20 hardware units started working today <\/em>\u2013 sums up Przemys\u0142aw Czaja, Contract Director at Budimex SA.<\/p>\n

OMT is another infrastructure investment in\u00a0Budimex\u2019s portfolio. Currently, the company is implementing m.in. construction of the S61 expressway (on the sections: Suwa\u0142ki \u2013 Budzisko with\u00a0the Szypliszki bypass, Stawiski-Szczuczyn, Wysokie \u2013 Raczki) and the S19 expressway on the section from the Bia\u0142ystok Zach\u00f3d junction (without the junction) to the Bia\u0142ystok Ksi\u0119\u017cyno junction, S11 on the section Koszalin \u2013 Zegrze Pomorskie, S5 Ornowo \u2013 Wirwajdy in the\u00a0province of Szczecin.
