Budimex has started construction works on\u00a0a\u00a0bridge structure in\u00a0Germany near the Polish border. The tender for the demolition and\u00a0construction of a\u00a0new bridge in\u00a0Liepe in\u00a0Brandenburg, worth \u20ac5.1 million gross, was won by\u00a0the largest Polish general contractor at\u00a0the end of 2021. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The investment carried out by\u00a0Budimex is located in\u00a0Liepe in\u00a0the federal state of Brandenburg, in\u00a0the district of Barnim, in\u00a0eastern Germany. One of the largest ship lifts in\u00a0Europe is nearby. The Oder-Havel Canal, a\u00a0very important waterway connecting the Oder River with the network of waterways in\u00a0Germany, flows through this town. This is where the steel parts of the bridge, which are being built in\u00a0Szczecin, are transported. The first stage of construction works is the demolition of the old bridge structure.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Our task is to\u00a0demolish the old bridge and build a\u00a0new structure. This construction is a\u00a0big challenge for us. Due to\u00a0the nature conservation area, the transport of materials to\u00a0the south side must be\u00a0carried out by\u00a0water. We\u00a0are currently starting demolition works. The first step is to\u00a0cut out the middle span of the load-bearing structure, which will then be\u00a0lowered in\u00a0its entirety using a\u00a0system of pontoon presses. We\u00a0have only 48 hours to\u00a0cut out the middle span. This time is so short because we\u00a0can no\u00a0longer block the waterway<\/em> \u2013 says Denis Buchta, construction manager of Budimex Bau.<\/p>\n

Budimex is the largest construction company in\u00a0Poland, which has already completed thousands of modern investments throughout the country. Currently, the company employs over 7,000\u00a0people. One of the elements of Budimex\u2019s development is to\u00a0expand beyond Poland and\u00a0into European markets. On\u00a0the German market, Budimex SA operates together with its subsidiary Budimex Bau GmbH in\u00a0the area of infrastructure, cubature\u00a0 and industrial construction. Budimex Bau can boast of winning further tenders in\u00a0these areas. Budimex is also present in\u00a0the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In\u00a0December this year. the general contractor has started work on\u00a0the construction of the Slovak D1\/D4 motorway junction.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
