The renovation includes a\u00a0total of three wings \u2013 B, C\u00a0and D, as\u00a0well as\u00a0a\u00a0courtyard and a\u00a0fire road. At\u00a0the same time, Budimex submitted this project to\u00a0the Construction of the Year 2022 competition. The plebiscite is organized annually by\u00a0PZITB in\u00a0cooperation with the Ministry of Construction and the Central Office of Building Supervision.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The investment carried out by\u00a0Budimex included the reconstruction of two wings of the Warsaw University of Technology \u2013 B, C, as\u00a0well as\u00a0a\u00a0courtyard and a\u00a0fire road. Currently, works are underway in\u00a0building D. So far, the renovation has been carried out under the supervision of a\u00a0conservator. The net value of the contract is PLN 69.1 million. The investment was financed by\u00a0the Warsaw University of Technology and the Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The eastern wing C\u00a0was intended for teaching and research purposes, primarily:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Department of Refrigeration and Building Energy,<\/li>\n<li>Aircraft Engine Plant,<\/li>\n<li>Department of Thermodynamics,<\/li>\n<li>Department of Rational Use of Energy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The reconstruction within the C\u00a0wing was aimed at\u00a0introducing appropriate functional divisions, filling in\u00a0the gaps and introducing a\u00a0clear communication system. This involved separating new rooms, introducing two staircases and creating a\u00a0new corridor. The space of the then emptiness in\u00a0the central part of the building was filled with new ceilings, creating communication. On\u00a0the ground floor, the rooms in\u00a0the hall have been extended by\u00a0a\u00a0corridor located along the eastern fa\u00e7ade of the building. Due to\u00a0significant changes, it was necessary to\u00a0demolish the existing load-bearing walls and introduce an additional structure on\u00a0which the new elements of the horizontal partitions were based.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The D wing, which will be\u00a0completed by\u00a0mid-December 2023, will include:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>laboratories of the Department of Power Engineering and Equipment,<\/li>\n<li>laboratories of the Department of Rational Use of Energy,<\/li>\n<li>individual laboratories of ZCHiEB and ZT,<\/li>\n<li>workshop with social facilities and cloakroom,<\/li>\n<li>classrooms,<\/li>\n<li>exhibition areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ordering the functions requires significant changes within the body of hall D. It is necessary to\u00a0demolish the existing walls and eliminate the non-functional staircase in\u00a0the southern part of the wing. In\u00a0its place, a\u00a0new staircase with a\u00a0passenger lift was designed. The second vertical communication node is planned at\u00a0the eastern, internal fa\u00e7ade of the hall. Some of the existing machines will be\u00a0removed so that new divisions and functional layout can be\u00a0introduced. In\u00a0the central part of the building, new ceilings are planned, which will connect different levels in\u00a0the northern and southern parts of the wing, additionally creating the possibility of exhibiting the original elements of the mini didactic power plant in\u00a0an open, two-storey space. Such a\u00a0solution of internal communication, including the passage to\u00a0a\u00a0two-storey room intended for the exhibition of the Laval turbine and the crane, will enable the implementation of the idea of an educational path that will lead through subsequent rooms of the hall with historic equipment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As\u00a0part of scope I, works were carried out on\u00a0the reconstruction of hall C\u00a0and the extension of a\u00a0roofed courtyard with a\u00a0bypass to\u00a01. floor around the existing TC-1 auditorium. The cooling tower in\u00a0the middle of the courtyard and the reconstruction of the former gatehouse building were excluded from the basic scope, except for the necessary reconstruction of the roof. Scope II\u00a0also includes the interior of a\u00a0one-storey building on\u00a0the border of the roof with an unchanged function \u2013 it will still house the Ionizing Radiation Measurement Laboratory, which is part of ZMUE.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The extension resulted from the roofing of the existing courtyard between wings C\u00a0and D and hall B.\u00a0Additional functions were located within it. As\u00a0part of the connection of this zone with the existing front wing, passages on\u00a0level 1 are planned. floors on\u00a0both sides of the auditorium \u2013 this results in\u00a0the creation of an additional storey in\u00a0this fragment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">At\u00a0the same time, Budimex has selected the reconstruction of the ITC building of the Warsaw University of Technology for the nationwide \u201cConstruction of the Year\u201d 2022 competition. The plebiscite has been organized since 1989 and promotes the broadly understood construction industry. Thanks to\u00a0its rich tradition, the \u201cConstruction of the Year\u201d has become one of the most prestigious achievements of the Polish construction industry. The general contractor works closely with the university and its students \u2013 for several years\u00a0it has been conducting internships on\u00a0its construction sites as\u00a0part of the cooperation.
