Budimex has completed the construction of the S6 expressway on\u00a0the Luzino (without the junction) \u2013 Szemud (with the junction) section, and thus commissioned a\u00a010 km long section of the Kashubian\u00a0Route in\u00a0the Pomeranian Voivodeship. In\u00a0addition, as\u00a0part of the contract, the general contractor completed 10 km of access roads, local roads and exits to\u00a0serve the adjacent area. In\u00a0December this year alone\u00a0, Budimex commissioned nearly 45 kilometres of expressways throughout Poland. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The part of the S6 expressway connecting S\u0142upsk with Gda\u0144sk consists of three implementation sections with a\u00a0total length of nearly 41 km: Bo\u017ce Pole \u2013 Luzino, Luzino \u2013 Szemud and Szemud \u2013 Gdynia Wielki Kack. As\u00a0part of the project, Budimex built the middle section, including m.in.\u00a0a\u00a0dual carriageway road with a\u00a0length of over 10 km. In\u00a0addition, 10 km of access and local streets and exits were built to\u00a0serve the area adjacent to\u00a0the Kashubian Route. Access to\u00a0the S6 is provided by\u00a0the Szemud junction built at\u00a0the intersection with the provincial road DW 224.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0part of the project, 13 engineering structures were built \u2013 2 bridges, 9 viaducts, a\u00a0passage for small animals and 1 flyover \u2013 the largest on\u00a0the entire 40-kilometre section, 30 metres high and 200 metres long, made in\u00a0the overhang technology. The facility was built over the valley near the village of Milwino.<\/p>\n

\u2013 The construction of the S6 route is an important change for road traffic in\u00a0the entire Tri-City agglomeration, which will relieve the m.in.\u00a0existing national road and main communication routes <\/em>\u2013 says Contract Director, Piotr Sumi\u0142a. \u201cThe project was complicated due to\u00a0its hilly terrain and\u00a0wet ground, which required special ground reinforcement and hydrotechnical works<\/em> ,\u201d adds Sumi\u0142a.<\/p>\n

About 300 employees and\u00a0subcontractors worked on\u00a0the construction of this section of the S6 every day. The gross value of the contract is PLN 335.8 million. Work on\u00a0the investment in\u00a0the \u201cDesign and Build\u201d system began in\u00a0mid-2018 and was completed at\u00a0the beginning of 2022. The contracting authority is the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways in\u00a0Gda\u0144sk.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
