In\u00a0January, the Technical and Maintenance Point in\u00a0Krak\u00f3w was officially opened, implemented by\u00a0the consortium of Budimex (consortium leader) and KZN Rail as\u00a0part of the investment called \u201cDesign and construction of technical facilities for the operation of rolling stock at\u00a0the Krak\u00f3w Towarowy station\u201d for Koleje Ma\u0142opolskie.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The basic function of the Technical and Operation Point is to\u00a0ensure inter-train parking of the Company\u2019s railway vehicles as\u00a0well as\u00a0their maintenance and operation.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Thanks to\u00a0the operation of the point, it will be\u00a0possible to\u00a0perform maintenance, service and repair activities on\u00a0time and in\u00a0a\u00a0planned manner, as\u00a0well as\u00a0to\u00a0hand over the rolling stock for further use, in\u00a0order to\u00a0perform the assumed maintenance tasks for the Company\u2019s own needs, without the need to\u00a0travel to\u00a0distant points. Ultimately, it will also be\u00a0possible to\u00a0provide services as\u00a0part of the Service Infrastructure Facility (OIU) to\u00a0other railway carriers in\u00a0the field of technical maintenance of railway vehicles and other services<\/em> \u2013 says Jakub Nagraba, Director of the General Construction Division of Budimex SA.<\/p>\n

The investment was implemented in\u00a0the \u201cDesign and Build\u201d formula in\u00a0a\u00a0consortium with KZN Rail sp. z\u00a0o.o. Budimex SA\u2019s share in\u00a0the consortium amounted to\u00a057%. The value of the entire contract is PLN 79,338,000.<\/p>\n

The following projects were carried out under the contract:
\u2022 preparation of the construction and detailed design along with obtaining administrative decisions;
\u2022 construction of a\u00a0technical and assembly facility building: a\u00a0repair hall with a\u00a0social and office part, a\u00a0workshop and warehouse part, a\u00a0whole train wash and a\u00a0technical part with installations and equipment;
\u2022 construction of a\u00a0new system of parking and shunting tracks with a\u00a0traction network and the Railway Traffic Control System (SRK);
\u2022 execution of land development and external infrastructure, including: construction of a\u00a0fire protection tank, retention reservoir, construction of power connections and transformer stations, construction of a\u00a0system of internal roads and parking lots, etc.;
\u2022 comprehensive delivery and installation of the facility\u2019s equipment, including: construction of a\u00a0full-train portal car wash using a\u00a0closed water circuit, execution of a\u00a0system for defecalization of trains, delivery and installation of equipment, in\u00a0particular: underfloor lathe, trapdoor, laser wheel measurement system, rail vehicle lifts, wheel pressure measurement system, sanding station, de-icing station, pantograph repair station, delivery of a\u00a0two-way vehicle for pulling Lokotraktor trains.<\/p>\n

Budimex is one of the leaders in\u00a0railway construction in\u00a0Poland. The company is currently implementing contracts such as\u00a0m.in.\u00a0the new Warszawa Zachodnia station, which is one of the largest investments of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe SA. The general contractor is also responsible for the construction of the Port of Gdynia railway station, the E\u0142k station and the Czechowice-Dziedzice station. In\u00a0the last two years, Budimex has also completed the modernisation of the Warsaw-Lublin railway line, the E59 Rokietnica \u2013 Wronki section and the E30 Trzebinia \u2013 Krzeszowice section of the railway line. <\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
