The construction of the tram to\u00a0Wilan\u00f3w is entering the next stage. From 11 February, the construction site begins to\u00a0extend \u2013 the works will cover the entire section from ul.\u00a0Pu\u0142awska Street in\u00a0Mokot\u00f3w through Sobieskiego Street and Aleja Rzeczpospolitej to\u00a0ul.\u00a0Branickiego in\u00a0Wilan\u00f3w. The investment will be\u00a0completed in\u00a0accordance with the contractual deadline in\u00a0the first quarter of 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The construction site is being extended by\u00a0about 5 km. On\u00a0Saturday, February 11, one roadway of ul.Sobieskiego Street and Rzeczypospolitej Avenue. Traffic marking out on\u00a0one roadway will end on\u00a0February 19. For most of the construction works, the main intersections will be\u00a0unobstructed and passable. However, during the works, smaller road connections will be\u00a0temporarily closed \u2013 this will be\u00a0the intersection with van Beethoven Street and Sejmu Four-Year Street, and access to\u00a0Truskawiecka Street will be\u00a0partially difficult.<\/p>\n

The difficulties result from the need to\u00a0rebuild many underground installations, such as\u00a0heat supply, water supply, sewage and electrical installations. These installations should be\u00a0rebuilt comprehensively, which is why the works must be\u00a0carried out along the entire length of Sobieskiego Street. During the reconstruction, m.in works related to\u00a0the demolition of bituminous surfaces, humus removal of the separation strip, milling will be\u00a0carried out, and heavy equipment will be\u00a0introduced to\u00a0take care of the demolition of paving elements. Then the construction of tracks, power supply, new roadways and tram stops will take place.<\/p>\n

After the completion of the construction, the tram ride from the Wilan\u00f3w district to\u00a0the Centrum metro station will take only 25 minutes. On\u00a0average, 230 employees and 60 equipment units work on\u00a0the construction site every day. The general contractor assures that it is doing everything to\u00a0complete this investment as\u00a0soon as\u00a0possible and put the roads into use by\u00a0the residents.<\/p>\n

For the passenger<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bus lane on\u00a0ul.\u00a0Sobieskiego Street is extended from 18 February to\u00a0Al.\u00a0Wilanowska Street. From 13 February, a\u00a0new connection from Wilan\u00f3w to\u00a0the M1 metro line is provided by\u00a0buses of line 217 on\u00a0an extended route. From the bus stop at\u00a0Al.\u00a0Rzeczypospolitej and ul.\u00a0Branickiego will be\u00a0available to\u00a0the Imielin station by\u00a0buses of three lines \u2013 217, 263 and 319. In\u00a0the morning rush hour, buses towards the Imielin metro station will depart approx. every hour. 4-5 minutes. During the winter holidays, more frequent courses of line 522 and the operation of line E-2 will be\u00a0maintained. The final section of line 172 will change. The buses will reach the Stegny terminus, not the Sadyba terminus.<\/p>\n

For drivers<\/strong><\/p>\n

Traffic on\u00a0ul.\u00a0Sobieskiego and Al.\u00a0Rzeczpospolita will take place on\u00a0one roadway. Drivers will have one lane in\u00a0each direction at\u00a0their disposal. In\u00a0the first days, you should be\u00a0especially careful and remember that navigation systems such as\u00a0Google Maps \u201clearn\u201d new driver behaviors.<\/p>\n

For pedestrians and cyclists<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can move freely along the construction site on\u00a0foot. Passage from one side of the street to\u00a0the other is possible thanks to\u00a0special communication points. In\u00a0addition, the footbridges running over the construction site are maintained. For safety reasons, bicycle traffic should take place on\u00a0the west side, right next to\u00a0road traffic. However, it is worth remembering that the entire five-kilometre section \u2013 on\u00a0both sides of the street \u2013 is a\u00a0construction site, so you should be\u00a0particularly careful when moving along the investment site.<\/p>\n

Przystanek Ziele\u0144 \u2013 a\u00a0campaign to\u00a0plant 400 trees<\/strong><\/p>\n

Przystanek Ziele\u0144 is a\u00a0project aimed at\u00a0planting even more trees in\u00a0the vicinity of the construction of the Tram to\u00a0Wilan\u00f3w. Budimex has prepared 400 additional seedlings, which it wants to\u00a0donate to\u00a0the residents of Mokot\u00f3w and Wilan\u00f3w and plant together with them in\u00a0selected areas.Currently, the general contractor is collecting applications for the first stage of the campaign, under which it will plant 130 trees. Plantings are planned on\u00a0private land belonging to\u00a0housing communities and cooperatives.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0housing community\/cooperative that wants to\u00a0take part in\u00a0the action must:<\/p>\n

\u2013 have land on\u00a0which trees can be\u00a0planted,<\/p>\n

\u2013 be\u00a0located in\u00a0the vicinity of the construction of the Tram to\u00a0Wilan\u00f3w,<\/p>\n

\u2013 have resources that allow you to\u00a0take care of the planted trees indefinitely.<\/p>\n
