On\u00a0Tuesday, 18 April, Budimex, together with representatives of the largest shareholder: Gonzalo Nieto Mier (CEO of Ferrovial Energy Infrastructure and Mobility), Armando Zuluaga (CEO of Ferrovial Energy and Infrastructure), signed a\u00a0shareholders\u2019 agreement establishing a\u00a0new joint-venture company BXF Energia. It is a\u00a0joint project of Budimex and the Spanish Ferrovial. Budimex will have a\u00a0majority stake in\u00a0the new entity (51 per cent).<\/strong><\/p>\n

BXF Energia will implement the Budimex Group\u2019s diversification strategy by\u00a0developing a\u00a0new area of its operations. The company\u2019s task will also be\u00a0to\u00a0produce green energy for the needs of external customers and \u00a0the Budimex Group, which will only strengthen its sustainable development.<\/p>\n

So far, we\u00a0have focused on\u00a0M&A transactions and acquiring power plants in\u00a0the ready-to-build phase. We\u00a0want to\u00a0operate on\u00a0a\u00a0large scale, because this kind of commitment is needed today not only by\u00a0our Group, but also by\u00a0the national energy transition. It is also an opportunity to\u00a0fully use the potential and resources of Budimex locally, with the involvement of international capabilities and experience in\u00a0RES investments of the Ferrovial Group\u00a0<\/em> \u2013 says Artur Popko \u2013 President of Budimex SA.<\/p>\n

Our goal for the next 5 years is to\u00a0have 500 MW of wind and photovoltaic projects already in\u00a0 the construction and operation phase. In\u00a0the short term, we\u00a0would also like to\u00a0put in\u00a0order the RES projects started as\u00a0part of Budimex,\u201d adds the President of Budimex.<\/p>\n

Presence in\u00a0the energy sector is also to\u00a0financially stabilize the construction part.<\/p>\n

Diversification of our portfolio with another area and business model is also an element of balancing the Group\u2019s operations based largely on\u00a0short investment cycles, depending on\u00a0the availability of m.in.\u00a0Measures <\/em>Public. <\/em>RES projects, on\u00a0the other hand, are long-term investments, allowing for a\u00a0stable allocation of capital. We\u00a0also see this approach as\u00a0an element of responsibility in\u00a0business<\/em> \u2013 adds the President of Budimex SA.<\/p>\n

The aim of the new entity on\u00a0the market will be\u00a0to\u00a0invest in\u00a0and carry out energy projects based on\u00a0low-emission production.<\/p>\n

BXF Energia\u2019s core business will include the acquisition and development of large-scale photovoltaic and wind projects at\u00a0various stages of advancement. We\u00a0want to\u00a0be\u00a0part of the entire value chain \u2013 from land exploration to\u00a0development and construction to\u00a0plant management and energy production. This is not a\u00a0closed catalogue \u2013 we\u00a0will be\u00a0closely watching the development of new technologies<\/em> \u2013 says Piotr \u015awiecki \u2013 President of BXF Energia<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s goal for the next 5 years is to\u00a0have approx. 500 MW of power. At\u00a0current energy prices, the estimated annual turnover of the company is about PLN 300 million. Comparing this result to\u00a0the scale of the Budimex Group\u2019s operations, it is not a\u00a0revolution, but we\u00a0can talk about a\u00a0significant share coming from the sector that has a\u00a0dominant impact on\u00a0shaping the economy and the market. This is our investment in\u00a0the future,\u201d adds Piotr \u015awiecki. <\/em><\/p>\n

The establishment of BXF Energia is not the first example of sustainable activities of the Budimex Group.\u00a0 Budimex already has m.in in\u00a0its portfolio. two RES projects purchased in\u00a0the ready-to-build formula \u2013 a\u00a07 MW wind farm under construction in\u00a0Drach\u00f3w and a\u00a014 MW photovoltaic farm in\u00a0Mszczon\u00f3w. At\u00a0the same time, at\u00a0various stages of development, Budimex has a\u00a0portfolio of about 120 MW in\u00a0photovoltaics and 110 MW in\u00a0wind energy.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
