On\u00a0Tuesday, 9 May 2023, Budimex signed a\u00a0contract for the reconstruction and expansion of the swimming pool and the sports and entertainment hall at\u00a0the Szczecin Sports Centre. The contract will be\u00a0implemented in\u00a0the \u201cdesign and build\u201d formula. The modernist sports center developed with new functionalities will be\u00a0used by\u00a0the residents of the city in\u00a03 years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The signing ceremony was attended by\u00a0Piotr Krzystek \u2013 Mayor of the City of Szczecin, Rados\u0142aw Tumielewicz \u2013 President of the Management Board of Szczeci\u0144skie Inwestycje Miejskie Sp. z\u00a0o.o. \u2013 the entity supervising the investment, and Mariusz Hurylski, Director of the Northern Branch of Budimex S.A.<\/p>\n

We\u00a0are very happy to\u00a0have the opportunity to\u00a0co-create a\u00a0new version of the facility of such great and historical importance for the inhabitants of Szczecin. As\u00a0a\u00a0company, we\u00a0are committed to\u00a0supporting educational and sports initiatives and pay special attention to\u00a0the social impact of our investments. We\u00a0have extensive experience in\u00a0general contracting of this type of halls and buildings. I\u00a0hope that our motivations and competences will allow us to\u00a0provide the residents of the city in\u00a036 months with a\u00a0modern place conducive to\u00a0the realization of passions, but also to\u00a0experiencing unique sports emotions <\/em>\u2013 said Mariusz Hurylski, Director of the Northern Branch of Budimex S.A.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Description of the investment<\/strong><\/p>\n

Budimex as\u00a0the general contractor of the investment at\u00a0ul.\u00a0W\u0105ska 16, will be\u00a0responsible for the demolition of the existing 25-meter swimming pool and the hall, and then the construction of new facilities.<\/p>\n

The infrastructure of the modernized Szczecin Sports Center will include m.in.\u00a0a\u00a0multifunctional sports and entertainment hall, which, after expansion, will be\u00a0able to\u00a0accommodate nearly 1,500\u00a0fans and host sports competitions of regional, national and international rank at\u00a0the level of club teams of cities. The building will also house two boxing rooms.<\/p>\n

The new swimming pool will include a\u00a030-meter swimming pool with a\u00a0local depth and rooms for lifeguards, toilets and a\u00a0warehouse. As\u00a0part of the investment, the construction of swimming competition stands for 246 people is planned
and reconstruction of a\u00a0small swimming pool with a\u00a0paddling pool.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0addition, the works will include the renovation of the existing main hall, land development with exits, access roads and accesses, technical infrastructure and connections to\u00a0external networks.<\/p>\n

Parameters of the new Szczecin Sports Centre:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2013 cubic capacity of the facility: 75 133 m3<\/p>\n

\u2013 total area: 10,526 m2<\/p>\n

\u2013 building height: 11.45-17.60 m<\/p>\n

\u2013 green areas: 1,957m2\u00a0(existing) and 745 m2 (designed)<\/p>\n

\u2013 number of underground storeys: 1<\/p>\n

\u2013 number of above-ground storeys: 4<\/p>\n

Technologies and modern solutions<\/strong><\/p>\n

The complex will be\u00a0adapted to\u00a0the needs of people with disabilities and equipped with innovations conducive to\u00a0m.in.\u00a0reduction of operating costs. The pool water technology will allow for the reuse of 75% of wash water. In\u00a0order to\u00a0increase the energy efficiency of the buildings, materials that meet the current standards for heat transfer will be\u00a0used in\u00a0the construction process. There will also be\u00a0a\u00a0photovoltaic installation in\u00a0the complex.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0order to\u00a0preserve the identity and emphasize the role of the former center in\u00a0the life of the local community, its elements will be\u00a0incorporated into the new buildings \u2013 part of the entrance hall and the mosaic.<\/p>\n

The estimated value of the investment is over PLN 108 million gross. It will be\u00a0partially financed by\u00a0the Government Fund Polish Deal: Strategic Investment Program (PLN 65 million).<\/p>\n

This is another task in\u00a0the area of general construction carried out by\u00a0Budimex in\u00a0the city of Szczecin and the surrounding area. The largest general contractor in\u00a0Poland is also responsible for the reconstruction of the railway bridge over the Regalica River and the construction of the Przec\u0142aw and Warzymice bypass. In\u00a02020, Budimex completed the flood control reservoir for the Odra River \u2013 the largest such facility in\u00a0Poland.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
