Budimex won the prestigious Top Builder award for the modernisation of the E-59 railway line, Rokietnica \u2013 Wronki section. On\u00a0Thursday, May 18, at\u00a0the Olympic Center in\u00a0Warsaw, the jury of the competition selected the most innovative and high-quality projects in\u00a0the Polish construction industry. This is another year in\u00a0a\u00a0row that Budimex has received the Top Builder award.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The reconstruction of track systems and accompanying infrastructure on\u00a0the E-59 railway line on\u00a0the Rokietnica \u2013 Wronki section carried out by\u00a0Budimex is part of the Pozna\u0144 G\u0142\u00f3wny \u2013 Szczecin G\u0142\u00f3wny railway line. As\u00a0part of the contract concluded with PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe, worth PLN 556 million net, the modernization covered the track surface, overhead contact line, power supply, repair and modernization of engineering structures, as\u00a0well as\u00a0the reconstruction of platforms and rail-road crossings.<\/p>\n

The E-59 line is part of the international transport route from Malm\u00f6 to\u00a0Vienna, Budapest and Prague. It is the shortest connection from Scandinavia to\u00a0Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Thank you very much for this distinction. We\u00a0are glad that the implementation of this investment has been appreciated, as\u00a0it is of strategic importance for the entire Polish rail transport. The modernization was primarily aimed at\u00a0increasing the attractiveness of the transport offer for passengers by\u00a0shortening the travel time and improving the comfort of travel. At\u00a0the same time, we\u00a0would also like to\u00a0thank our employees, partners and the ordering party,\u201d says Dariusz Taraszkiewicz, Regional Director of Budimex SA.<\/p>\n

\u2013 All works on\u00a0this investment were carried out with active rail traffic. The project included m.in.\u00a0construction of a\u00a0bridge over the Warta River in\u00a0Wronki. The innovation of this technical solution consisted in\u00a0the use of a\u00a0load-bearing structure, the main element of which is a\u00a0three-span composite structure in\u00a0the form of a\u00a0single steel girder (lattice) with a\u00a0reinforced concrete mating slab. It is a\u00a0unique and the first structure of this type in\u00a0Poland used by\u00a0Budimex. The length of the bridge in\u00a0the axes of the expansion joints is 193 metres,\u201d added Pawe\u0142 Chlasta, Contract Director at\u00a0Budimex SA, who also received the award on\u00a0behalf of the general contractor.<\/p>\n

The scope of work carried out by\u00a0the general contractor included, m.in:
\u2022 development of 76.383 km of tracks and 60 pcs. Junctions
\u2022 construction of the overhead contact line with supporting structures for mainline tracks and main tracks with a\u00a0total length of 82.02 km,
\u2022 reconstruction of 2 railway stations: Szamotu\u0142y and Wronki and 3 stops: Pami\u0105tkowo, Babor\u00f3wko and P\u0119ckowo,
\u2022 reconstruction of 10 platforms with small architecture and adapting them to\u00a0the needs of people with reduced mobility,
\u2022 construction or\u00a0reconstruction: 17 bridges, 2 viaducts, 12 culverts, retaining structure,
\u2022 construction of 2 crossings under the tracks in\u00a0Szamotu\u0142y and Wronki,
\u2022 modernization of 20 rail-road crossings (3 category A\u00a0and 17 category B\u00a0items).<\/p>\n

As\u00a0part of the completed works, the following m.in were used:
\u2022 50 km of DSM displacement columns to\u00a0strengthen the subgrade,
\u2022 Over 18 km of prefabricated reinforced concrete piles,
\u2022 Over 0.5 million tons of aggregates.<\/p>\n

Top Builder is one of the most prestigious awards on\u00a0the Polish construction market. It is a\u00a0distinction for the highest quality products: novelties and innovations, including proven material, technological and construction solutions. The jury also appreciates the design and implementation work as\u00a0well as\u00a0modern tools to\u00a0improve the management of companies and projects. Buildings that are distinguished by\u00a0the high quality of the designed architecture, often timeless form, reliability of workmanship, requiring high qualifications and industry specialization, with quality certificates of modern materials used in\u00a0the buildings and interesting pro-ecological solutions are also evaluated.<\/p>\n

In\u00a02022, Budimex received the Top Builder award for the construction of the PKN Orlen Research and Development Centre in\u00a0P\u0142ock.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
