Budimex was the main partner of this year\u2019s Polish Infrastructure Congress, which took place on\u00a015 June in\u00a0Warsaw. One of the main topics of discussion was the issue of unreliable bids submitted in\u00a0public tenders. Artur Popko, President of Budime, referred to\u00a0this m.in.<\/p>\n

It is very important for the construction industry that contracting authorities verify unreliable bids and contractors without real potential\u00a0 in\u00a0Poland.\u00a0 This is an action in\u00a0the interest of the investments being carried out, especially in\u00a0the current period. Many companies submit bids worth 60-70 percent of cost estimates,\u201d said Artur Popko during the opening debate. Construction companies in\u00a0Poland have significantly increased their potential. Annually, they are able to\u00a0implement investments worth PLN 30 billion. It is worth using this potential in\u00a0100 percent by\u00a0contracting authorities. This is especially true for the pace of signing contracts,\u201d he\u00a0added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Budimex also drew attention to\u00a0the ties of contractors with the Polish market.<\/p>\n

We\u00a0are, like many other Polish companies, a\u00a0responsible organization. We\u00a0invest in\u00a0young people, in\u00a0equipment and in\u00a0competences,\u201d he\u00a0added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Maciej Olek \u2013 Member of the Management Board of Budimex \u2013 also drew attention to\u00a0the problem of the stability of financing railway investments.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0an industry, we\u00a0need stable financing. For years, the railway investment market has been sinusoidal. This has a\u00a0negative impact on\u00a0the contracting industry, investments in\u00a0construction equipment, but also education. Young people will not want to\u00a0invest their time in\u00a0learning railway professions if this market is so volatile. Budimex has invested over PLN 200 million in\u00a0modern equipment to\u00a0modernise the railway infrastructure. Thanks to\u00a0this, we\u00a0can work faster and more efficiently. The entire railway industry has significantly increased its capacity \u2013 only the ten largest companies currently process PLN 30 billion per year.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He\u00a0was also asked about the recent ownership changes taking place on\u00a0the construction contractors\u2019 market.<\/p>\n

\n

We\u00a0have no\u00a0doubt that Polish railway companies will be\u00a0able to\u00a0implement the investment plans of both PKP PLK and CPK. If the railway investment market develops, there will be\u00a0room for both private contractors and state-owned companies \u2013 added Maciej Olek.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Polish Infrastructure Congress is the largest central debate on\u00a0road and rail infrastructure. Over 200 people from the industry from all over Polish took part in\u00a0it.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n
