Budimex has signed a\u00a0contract for the modernisation of the historic Railway Station in\u00a0Grudzi\u0105dz. The scope of work that the company will do\u00a0is m.in.\u00a0replacement of the external fa\u00e7ade with the structure and joinery, insulation of the building from the outside and repair of the roof on\u00a0which photovoltaic panels will be\u00a0installed. The contract value is PLN 59.9 million. The works will last 20 months, and during them the residents will use the temporary station.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Budimex will also rebuild and renovate the interior with the preservation and restoration of historical elements, and the suspended ceiling made of fibreboards will be\u00a0replaced with HPL laminated boards. Metalwork and \u2013 after prior cleaning \u2013 stone cladding will also be\u00a0renovated.<\/p>\n

The Grudzi\u0105dz railway station was built in\u00a0the years 1963-1965 according to\u00a0the design of Zbigniew Czekanowski and is a\u00a0valuable example of post-war modernism. Put into use on\u00a0the occasion of the 900th anniversary of Grudzi\u0105dz, in\u00a02021 it was entered into the register of monuments.<\/p>\n

The modernized building will gain an elevator and ramps, and passengers (on\u00a0level -1) will have garages and service premises at\u00a0their disposal. On\u00a0the ground floor there will be, m.in, a\u00a0hall, a\u00a0waiting room, ticket offices, public toilets, a\u00a0SOK station and commercial premises.<\/p>\n

\u201cServices related to\u00a0the area of railway construction are of great importance to\u00a0us. Recently, we\u00a0have put into use the modernized historic railway stations in\u00a0Bia\u0142ystok and W\u0142oc\u0142awek. Advanced works are underway in\u00a0Toru\u0144 and \u2013 one of the largest investments of this type in\u00a0Poland \u2013 Warszawa Zachodnia Station \u2013<\/em> says Jakub Nagraba, Director of General Construction, Budimex.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
