Budimex, together with the investor \u2013 the Szczecin and \u015awinouj\u015bcie Seaports Authority \u2013 has opened a\u00a0terminal in\u00a0\u015awinouj\u015bcie. As\u00a0part of the contract for PLN 185.2 million, the general contractor rebuilt the ferry berths and loading ramps. The existing road and rail infrastructure and technical facilities on\u00a0the quay were also modernized. The works began on\u00a0September 19, 2019. and lasted 47 months. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Thanks to\u00a0the expansion of the terminal, it will be\u00a0able to\u00a0handle intermodal transport, including ferries and passenger ships up to\u00a0270 meters long. The investment is an important element of the \u015awinouj\u015bcie-Trelleborg Motorway of the Sea called CEF (Connecting Europe). The project provides for better integration of the Szczecin-\u015awinouj\u015bcie port complex in\u00a0the North-South sea-land transport corridor and will contribute to\u00a0the economic development of the country and the West Pomeranian region. The reconstruction of the terminal was commissioned by\u00a0the Szczecin and \u015awinouj\u015bcie Seaports Authority and Swedish partners from the Ferry Port in\u00a0Trelleborg.<\/p>\n

\u200e\u2013 With undisguised pride, we\u00a0are handing over another investment that has recently been important for the inhabitants of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. We\u00a0are very active in\u00a0the region, implementing key investments in\u00a0various areas of construction. In\u00a0September this year. We\u00a0have signed a\u00a0contract for the construction of an installation terminal for offshore wind farms. It will be\u00a0one of the most modern installations of this type in\u00a0Europe and, like the others, will contribute to\u00a0the economic development of the region. The West Pomeranian Voivodeship will benefit from our presence in\u00a0many aspects<\/em> \u2013 said Sylwester G\u00f3ra, Contract Director at\u00a0Budimex S.A.\u00a0\u00a0 \u200e<\/p>\n

77 ferries call at\u00a0\u015awinouj\u015bcie per week, thus the port terminal located here is by\u00a0far the largest facility of this type in\u00a0Poland, ahead of Gdynia and Gda\u0144sk, which in\u00a02022 alone served 1.1 million people, 515,688 pcs. of trucks and semi-trailers and 270,969 pcs. Cars.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0part of the contract, Budimex rebuilt the existing loading ramp to\u00a0new technical parameters and obtained a\u00a0width of 35 m and a\u00a0load capacity of 180 T, as\u00a0well as\u00a0extended berth No. 5 by\u00a0stall No. 6 in\u00a0order to\u00a0create one mooring line with a\u00a0length of 294 m along with the construction of bottom reinforcement. In\u00a0addition, stand No. 5 was modernized in\u00a0order to\u00a0obtain a\u00a0technical depth Ht = 12.0 m and a\u00a0permissible depth of Hdop = 13.0 m. The quay and the hinterland were rebuilt and, if missing, the necessary technical infrastructure was made.<\/p>\n

Budimex also took care of the trackbed \u2013 rebuilding or\u00a0building new railway tracks at\u00a0the back of ferry stands 4 and 5, and road infrastructure \u2013 building a\u00a0completely new flyover over the \u015awinouj\u015bcie railway station, connecting the hinterland with the terminal area. New manoeuvring and parking areas with parking spaces for semi-trailers with an area of about 6 ha\u00a0were also built.<\/p>\n

These are not all Budimex\u2019s investments in\u00a0the province. in\u00a0the third quarter of this year. At\u00a0the end of August, 7 months ahead of schedule, the Przec\u0142aw and Warzymice bypass, which is of key importance to\u00a0the residents of Szczecin, was also commissioned in\u00a0the capital, and construction works on\u00a0one of the largest infrastructure investments in\u00a0the region \u2013 the bridge over the Regalica River \u2013 will be\u00a0completed within the next year.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
