Budimex has signed a\u00a0contract for the implementation of comprehensive construction works covering rail and road infrastructure on\u00a0the Tychy \u2013 Vistula Bridge section. The value of the contract amounts to\u00a0approx. PLN 909.6 million.\u00a0 The execution of design and construction works along with acceptance is planned for a\u00a0period of 3.5 years. As\u00a0a\u00a0result of the works on\u00a0the section, it will be\u00a0possible to\u00a0increase the current speed for both passenger trains to\u00a0160 km\/h and freight trains to\u00a0120 km\/h, as\u00a0well as\u00a0increase the safety and accessibility of the railway for people with mobility disabilities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>The concluded contract covers the implementation of construction works in\u00a0the field of track system, hanging a\u00a0new overhead contact line, access roads and railway crossings, platforms, construction of control rooms, as\u00a0well as\u00a0electricity, gas, water and sewage networks, as\u00a0well as\u00a0the preparation of a\u00a0detailed design and implementation of construction works for the installation of railway traffic control equipment and railway telecommunications network equipment.<\/p>\n

\u2013 It will be\u00a0a\u00a0demanding contract due to\u00a0its scope and scale. We\u00a0are heading towards the end of the adjacent task, the modernization of the Czechowice-Dziedzice junction, which we\u00a0will complete within the contract deadline. A\u00a0very committed and good team of people on\u00a0this contract will be\u00a0a\u00a0great support for this project<\/em> \u2013 said Artur Popko, President of the Management Board of Budimex S.A., during the signing of the contract.<\/p>\n

36 engineering structures such as\u00a0viaducts, bridges, underground passages and culverts will also be\u00a0built and rebuilt. 47 km of new tracks and 18 turnouts will be\u00a0built.<\/p>\n

\u200e\u2013 The implementation of the contract is undoubtedly a\u00a0challenge due to\u00a0the scope, but we\u00a0have extensive and well-documented experience in\u00a0the implementation of even very complex contracts covering both road and rail infrastructure. As\u00a0a\u00a0result of our activities on\u00a0the Tychy \u2013 Vistula Bridge section, not only the safety but also the accessibility of the railway will certainly improve, which will certainly be\u00a0associated with multifaceted social and economic benefits for the region. We\u00a0are pleased with the contracting and the accompanying trust in\u00a0another locally sensitive section of infrastructure<\/em> \u2013 says Wojciech G\u0142uc, Regional Director at\u00a0Budimex S.A.<\/p>\n

The aim of the works is to\u00a0extend the railway line to\u00a0a\u00a0speed of 160 km\/h for classic rolling stock in\u00a0the case of passenger trains with the possibility of increasing the speed and to\u00a0a\u00a0speed of 120 km\/h for freight trains. In\u00a0addition, the works will increase the accessibility of the railway for people with reduced mobility and improve safety within the Tychy \u2013 Vistula Bridge section.<\/p>\n

The railway lines rebuilt under the contract are located in\u00a0the line of international railway communication routes E65\/E30. Railway line No. 139 was built in\u00a0the years 1852 \u2013 1912. In\u00a01963. on\u00a0the Katowice \u2013 Bielsko-Bia\u0142a G\u0142\u00f3wna section, the line was rebuilt into a\u00a0double-track one. Railway line No. 148 was opened in\u00a01939. On\u00a0the section covered by\u00a0the contract, there are four passenger stops and one station.<\/p>\n

Budimex is one of the leaders in\u00a0railway construction in\u00a0Poland. The company is currently implementing contracts such as\u00a0m.in.\u00a0the new Warszawa Zachodnia station, which is one of the largest investments of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. Currently, Budimex is also responsible for the reconstruction of the E\u0142k station, the Port of Gdynia and the Czechowice-Dziedzice station. Budimex is also constructing a\u00a0section of the Pod\u0142\u0119\u017ce \u2013 Piekie\u0142ko (Chab\u00f3wka \u2013 Rabka Zaryte) railway line. In\u00a02021. Budimex has completed the modernisation of railway line No. 7 Warsaw \u2013 Lublin on\u00a0the Otwock-Pilawa, Pilawa \u2013 D\u0119blin and D\u0119blin-Na\u0142\u0119cz\u00f3w sections.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
