The pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the Vistula, built by\u00a0Budimex, after the last element of the structure was installed, connected the boulevards over the Vistula River with Praga. It is already possible to\u00a0pass the bridge technically, but according to\u00a0the plans for spring 2024. the crossing connecting \u015ar\u00f3dmie\u015bcie with Praga will also be\u00a0available to\u00a0Varsovians and tourists. The cost of the construction of this, one of the largest pedestrian and bicycle crossings in\u00a0Poland, will amount to\u00a0120 million 961 thousand. gross and is fully financed from municipal funds. The investment is part of the New Center of Warsaw project, which involves making a\u00a0number of changes in\u00a0the city center leading to\u00a0a\u00a0more friendly and convenient central part of the city.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The bridge connects the banks of the Vistula River at\u00a0the level of Karowa and Stefana Okrzei Streets. The building is 452 meters long. After opening and making it available to\u00a0Warsaw residents and tourists, pedestrians will be\u00a0able to\u00a0cross the crossing in\u00a06 minutes, while cyclists will be\u00a0able to\u00a0cross it in\u00a02 minutes. On\u00a0the left bank, before the last pillar, the crossing widens and splits into two ramps, which are thrown over the boulevards at\u00a0the level of the Wybrze\u017ce Ko\u015bciuszkowskie pavement.<\/p>\n

\u2013<\/em> The construction is progressing according to\u00a0plan and has already entered the final stage of implementation. Importantly, the rapid progress of work shows that such facilities, with an experienced and motivated team, can be\u00a0implemented very quickly, even in\u00a0such a\u00a0complex and infrastructurally sensitive environment as\u00a0the city center. Work is still underway on\u00a0the bridge to\u00a0assemble elements responsible for transmitting tensile and compressive forces, as\u00a0well as\u00a0equipment such as\u00a0railings and lighting. However, everything indicates that soon the crossing between the two banks of the Vistula will be\u00a0easier than ever for pedestrians and cyclists due to\u00a0the opening of the bridge \u2013 <\/em>says Adam Grzelczak, Contract Manager at\u00a0Budimex S.A.<\/p>\n

The bridge is made of steel coated with corten-colored paint (orange-brown rust imitation), which can withstand the higher humidity levels characteristic of riverside areas. The surface of the bridge will be\u00a0lined with a\u00a0layer of MMA (methacrylate) resin in\u00a0light gray. The width of the structure bent in\u00a0the shape of a\u00a0lightning bolt is variable and at\u00a0its narrowest point it is 6.9 m, and above the current it widens to\u00a016.3 m. In\u00a0addition, for the comfort and safety of users, the building will be\u00a0discreetly illuminated by\u00a0light sources placed in\u00a0the railings.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
