Budimex has started the construction of an installation terminal for offshore wind farms. The general contractor is implementing the onshore part of the investment for the sum of over PLN 118 million. The Orlen Group is responsible for the project, which wants to\u00a0build the first in\u00a0Poland and at\u00a0the same time one of the most modern installations of this type in\u00a0Europe. Completion of construction is planned for the end of December 2024. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The task of the WTIV (wind turbine installation vessel) terminal being built in\u00a0\u015awinouj\u015bcie will be\u00a0to\u00a0reload, store and assemble sections of wind towers with foundations and other elements of wind turbines.<\/p>\n

\u2013\u00a0This is a\u00a0special investment for us. We\u00a0have just completed the construction of the logistics terminal at\u00a0the ferry port in\u00a0\u015awinouj\u015bcie. This investment is of great importance for our client and for offshore development in\u00a0the Baltic Sea. It also has a\u00a0short lead time, so it is an ambitious project. I\u00a0am\u00a0sure that we\u00a0will meet all the investor\u2019s requirements<\/em>\u00a0 \u2013 said Artur Popko, President of Budimex S.A. during the ceremony.<\/p>\n

The investment will enable m.in.\u00a0construction of the first Baltic Power offshore wind farm with an installed capacity of 1140 MW located in\u00a0the waters of the Polish exclusive economic zone. The Polish terminal will handle investments carried out in\u00a0German, Swedish and Danish waters.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0part of the agreement signed on\u00a0Friday with Orlen Neptun II, on\u00a08 September, Budimex is implementing the onshore part of the investment. There will be\u00a0m.in built on\u00a0it. component surfaces for offshore wind turbine components such as\u00a0towers, blades
and gondolas. On\u00a0a\u00a0total area of about 17 hectares, communication infrastructure will also be\u00a0built, as\u00a0well as\u00a0a\u00a0new administrative and office building.<\/p>\n

\u2013 The implementation of the contract will involve m.in.\u00a0earthworks, such as\u00a0land leveling, aggregate transport and spreading. We\u00a0will also perform all works related to\u00a0the construction of administrative and office rooms, a\u00a0warehouse and parking lots from scratch. The works will last 17 months \u2013<\/em> says Sylwester G\u00f3ra, Contract Director at\u00a0Budimex S.A.<\/p>\n

Recently, Budimex has completed several important investments in\u00a0the province of Szczecin. West Pomerania. At\u00a0the end of August, 7 months ahead of schedule, the Przec\u0142aw and Warzymice bypass, which is of key importance to\u00a0the residents of Szczecin, was commissioned. The 4-kilometre section has significantly improved not only local traffic, but also shortened the travel time from Szczecin to\u00a0the Tri-City.<\/p>\n

Recently, the residents of Szczecin have also been able to\u00a0use 5 modern stages and the new building of the Polish Theatre, which can accommodate a\u00a0total of nearly 1,000 spectators. This architecturally and structurally unique project was commissioned at\u00a0the beginning of August. These are not all Budimex\u2019s investments in\u00a0this area. In\u00a0July this year. 9 new stations for electric vehicles have been put into use by\u00a0the residents of Szczecin, and construction works on\u00a0one of the largest infrastructure investments in\u00a0the region \u2013 the bridge over the Regalica River \u2013 will be\u00a0completed within the next year.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
