\u2013 We\u00a0should develop mechanisms for financing railway investments that are more systemic and less dependent only on\u00a0the financing of EU\u00a0funds. The construction industry needs a\u00a0predictable and stable source of financing for railway investments<\/em> \u2013 said Maciej Olek, Member of the Management Board of Budimex, at\u00a0the Railway Congress in\u00a0Warsaw during the opening debate. Budimex was the main partner of the Congress. <\/strong><\/p>\n

In\u00a0addition to\u00a0Budimex, the guests of the opening of the event were: Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Infrastructure \u2013 Andrzej Bittel, President of PKP PLK \u2013 Ireneusz Merchel, MPs and representatives of the railway industry.<\/p>\n

During the Congress, Maciej Olek emphasized the need to\u00a0provide, after the experience of the last two years, new sources of financing for railway investments. \u201d In\u00a0our opinion, railways, as\u00a0green transport, should participate in\u00a0revenues from CO2 emissions, and the Railway Fund should be\u00a0able to\u00a0incur long-term liabilities for growing revenues \u2013 this is a\u00a0strategic challenge for the industry for the coming years<\/em> ,\u201d said Maciej Olek.<\/p>\n

At\u00a0the Congress, an important declaration was made, probably by\u00a0the future Deputy Prime Minister, Krzysztof Gawkowski from the Left, that the first funds from the National Recovery Plan for the railway will be\u00a0launched as\u00a0early as\u00a0December this year. The mobilisation of these funds should unblock railway tenders in\u00a02024.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n
