Budimex SA accelerates the construction of the Tri-City Metropolitan Bypass \u2013 the queen of Polish bypasses<\/h2>\n

Budimex SA, three months before the contract deadline, has reached the second milestone in\u00a0the construction of the Tri-City Metropolitan Bypass (OMT) \u2013 a\u00a0key route for the region. The planned time of commissioning of the route is April 2025. The progress of the works has exceeded 50%. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The inauguration of work on\u00a0the OMT took place on\u00a0November 24, 2022. According to\u00a0the plans, the general contractor is to\u00a0complete the contract worth PLN 668.8 million net within 38 months from signing the contract, excluding winter periods, until April 2025.<\/p>\n

The project includes the construction of a\u00a016.3 km long dual carriageway expressway, road junctions, circuits and engineering structures. Budimex, acting in\u00a0the \u201cDesign and Build\u201d formula, has committed itself to\u00a0the comprehensive implementation of this ambitious project.<\/p>\n

\u2013 The construction of the OMT was divided into two parts. The first task is the section Chwaszczyno junction (without the junction) \u2013 \u017bukowo junction (without the junction) with a\u00a0length of\u00a016.3 km. At\u00a0the moment, we\u00a0are at\u00a0the peak of works. More than 620 workers are working on\u00a0the construction site to\u00a0build\u00a0 a\u00a0dual carriageway expressway with two lanes in\u00a0each direction with\u00a0a\u00a0reserve for the third lane, the \u201cMiszewo\u201d and \u201cChwaszczyno\u201d road junctions, the Miszewo road circuit <\/em>\u2013 informs Przemys\u0142aw Czaja, Contract Director at\u00a0Budimex SA.<\/p>\n

Currently, the progress of works has exceeded 50%. The construction includes 16.5 km of the main S-class road, 15.5 km of service and access roads, over 3 million earthworks and over 230 thousand km. m3 of land exchanges. As\u00a0part of the OMT, 28 bridge structures are also being built, and the progress of works in\u00a0this area is already 60%.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Working on\u00a0this contract is a\u00a0big challenge. The entire works are densely intersected by\u00a0a\u00a0network of local and access roads. There are two active railway lines in\u00a0the contract area, causing additional difficulties. We\u00a0have over 280 thousand to\u00a0be\u00a0completed on\u00a0the section. tons of bituminous mass, which is a\u00a0really large scale even for an S-class road \u2013 <\/em>adds Przemys\u0142aw Czaja.<\/p>\n

Works on\u00a0the section implemented by\u00a0Budimex are progressing faster than the schedule, which resulted in\u00a0a\u00a0nearly three-month acceleration.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Achieving the second milestone ahead of schedule is not only proof of efficiency, but also of the commitment of the Budimex team to\u00a0the implementation of this key infrastructure project. The Tri-City Metropolitan Bypass, due to\u00a0its importance and scale, is often referred to\u00a0as\u00a0the queen of Polish bypasses. Its construction is the fulfillment of the expectations of the inhabitants of the Tri-City and Pomerania, which have been articulated for years, but the importance of the route itself is also important from the point of view of domestic and international transit and tourism<\/em>\u201d \u2013 says Jakub D\u0142ugoszek, Director of Infrastructure Construction at\u00a0Budimex SA.<\/p>\n

The bypass under construction is also important for the region due to\u00a0its strategic importance for transport within \u017bukowo and Chwaszczyno. Its presence will significantly relieve traffic on\u00a0the existing S6 expressway of the Tri-City Bypass.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Thank you for the support we\u00a0receive from the residents of the Tri-City and Pomerania. This is an additional motivation for us to\u00a0work even harder. We\u00a0are determined to\u00a0complete this project to\u00a0the highest standards and on\u00a0time. The Tri-City Metropolitan Bypass, after reaching the anticipated shape, will indeed become the queen of Polish bypasses, and we\u00a0are proud to\u00a0be\u00a0its co-creators<\/em> \u2013 adds Przemys\u0142aw Czaja.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ultimately, the OMT will be\u00a0about 39 km long and\u00a0will enable efficient passage from\u00a0the A1 and S7 motorways to\u00a0the west and\u00a0north of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, leading transit traffic to\u00a0further sections of the S6 route towards\u00a0L\u0119bork, S\u0142upsk and\u00a0Koszalin.<\/p>\n

OMT is another infrastructure investment in\u00a0Budimex\u2019s portfolio. This year, the company completed m.in.\u00a0construction of the S-11 section \u2013 the \u201croad of life\u201d for Central Pomerania and Wielkopolska, and the A-18 motorway, contributing to\u00a0the liquidation of the so-called \u201croad of life\u201d. \u201cthe longest staircase in\u00a0Europe\u201d. \u2013 We\u00a0work on\u00a0sensitive routes, our competence in\u00a0the field of infrastructure allows us to\u00a0meet the requirements of these sections and timely and often faster than scheduled completion of works. We\u00a0know that such investments immediately translate into the development of the region and the improvement of the comfort and safety of travelers<\/em> \u2013 says Jakub D\u0142ugoszek.<\/p>\n

On\u00a0average, Budimex constructs every fourth kilometre of expressway in\u00a0Poland. Eighty percent of road contracts are completed by\u00a0the Polish general contractor before the contract deadline.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
