Budimex will build a\u00a0polder in\u00a0Kut\u0159in, Czech Republic. As\u00a0part of the agreement signed on\u00a021 December this year. contracts for the amount of PLN 113 million (CZK 563 million), a\u00a0146-metre-long dam will be\u00a0built. The contract also provides for the revitalization of the river over a\u00a0length of 2 kilometers. The works will last 39 months, including the winter months. This is the first project of a\u00a0Polish general contractor in\u00a0the Czech Republic, which has been present on\u00a0this market for two years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe signing of the first contract in\u00a0the Czech Republic is an important element of our strategy to\u00a0increase our presence on\u00a0the markets of neighbouring countries, which we\u00a0have been implementing in\u00a0recent years. The trust placed in\u00a0us by\u00a0our southern neighbour is a\u00a0direct consequence of the projects successfully implemented by\u00a0Budimex in\u00a0Germany and Slovakia \u2013<\/em> says Artur Popko, President of the Management Board of Budimex.<\/p>\n

The main element of the contract is the construction of a\u00a0dry retention reservoir in\u00a0Kut\u0159\u00edn. The site is part of the flood protection of villages located below the confluence of the Krounka and Novohr\u00e1dek rivers. The dam built by\u00a0Budimex will be\u00a0146 metres long and its maximum height above ground level will be\u00a017.80 metres. The structure will be\u00a05.67 meters wide in\u00a0the crown, on\u00a0which a\u00a0paved road will be\u00a0built.\u00a0 The retention volume of the facility is 3.6 million m3, and the area of flooded land at\u00a0full retention volume: 67.5 ha.<\/p>\n

\u2013 We\u00a0take part in\u00a0many tenders on\u00a0the Czech market. In\u00a0two years, we\u00a0have submitted thirty-two bids for more than 65 billion crowns. We\u00a0are constantly getting to\u00a0know and learning about the Czech market, establishing contacts with local entrepreneurs and potential subcontractors. Everything is going according to\u00a0the assumed strategy of development on\u00a0foreign markets<\/em> \u2013 says Adam Barszczy\u0144ski, Regional Director at\u00a0the Czech branch of Budimex. We\u00a0are constantly learning about the Czech market, establishing contacts with local entrepreneurs and potential subcontractors. We\u00a0are looking for new employees and educating our own employees who are learning Czech and obtaining local construction licenses \u2013 <\/em>adds Adam Barszczy\u0144ski.<\/p>\n

Recently, Budimex has significantly accelerated its expansion into foreign markets. The company has been present m.in for many years. in\u00a0Germany and Slovakia, where it is building an important intersection of the D1 and D4 motorways. Budimex submitted the lowest bids and is in\u00a0first place in\u00a0two tenders: for the construction of a\u00a021 kilometer long section of the motorway from D\u017eb\u00e1nov to\u00a0Litomy\u0161l in\u00a0the Czech Republic and D11 Trutnov to\u00a0the Polish border with a\u00a0length of 21 kilometers.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0December, Budimex also signed its first contract in\u00a0Latvia \u2013 for the construction of the Rail Baltica railway line. As\u00a0part of the contract worth EUR 3.7 billion, the winning ERB RAIL consortium, consisting of France\u2019s Eiffage G\u00e9nie Civil, Polish\u2019s Budimex and Italy\u2019s Rizzani de\u00a0Eccher, will build a\u00a0230-kilometre high-speed railway. The aim of the task is to\u00a0integrate the Baltic States into the European railway network by\u00a0creating a\u00a0connection between Tallinn and Warsaw. Increasing the company\u2019s presence on\u00a0European markets translates into a\u00a0good financial condition.<\/p>\n

Budimex has extensive experience in\u00a0the implementation of hydrotechnical investments. As\u00a0a\u00a0general contractor, it rebuilt, among others: the ports in\u00a0\u015awinouj\u015bcie and Szczecin, the P\u0142onie Canal at\u00a0the Martwa Wis\u0142a River in\u00a0Gda\u0144sk and the Rydzyna Water Reservoir. The company also modernized the ports of Gdansk and improved access to\u00a0the ports of Gdynia and \u015awinouj\u015bcie. In\u00a0December this year. the company has completed the reconstruction of one of the most important flood protection investments in\u00a0the Opole region. The \u017belazna Polder is over 11 km of embankments that protect against flooding of the m.in.\u00a0Opole.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
