\n Budimex supported the Foundation for the Development of the University of Gda\u0144sk, responsible for the Marine Station and Seal Centre in\u00a0Hel. Thanks to\u00a0the cooperation, the seal rehabilitation center received an advanced biochemical analyzer that will help restore the population of marine mammals \u2013 seals and porpoises. The device used to\u00a0test the blood will significantly reduce the waiting time for results, thus increasing the chance of saving these animals. Employees of a\u00a0local contract \u2013 the construction of the T3 container terminal in\u00a0Gda\u0144sk, carried out by\u00a0a\u00a0leader in\u00a0the construction market, were involved in\u00a0the campaign. <\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

The main idea of the cooperation was to\u00a0take care of the population of seals and porpoises, and thus ensure the protection of local biodiversity. As\u00a0a\u00a0conscious general contractor, Budimex goes beyond the framework of standard aid \u2013 due to\u00a0the fact that the T3 project in\u00a0Gda\u0144sk is carried out entirely at\u00a0sea, the protection of marine mammals is crucial here.<\/p>\n

\u201d\u00a0 Budimex is very often involved in\u00a0activities for the local community, hence the idea to\u00a0support the seal centre. Thus, the purchase of an analyzer for the blood of seals and porpoises was finalized. (\u2026) The marine station is the national center for the study of marine mammals, and the adjacent seal aquarium is the only rehabilitation center for these animals in\u00a0Poland \u2013 <\/em>says Anna Soszy\u0144ska, Environmental Protection Coordinator at\u00a0the DCT Terminal T3 contract at\u00a0Budimex.<\/p>\n

The cooperation between Budimex and the UG Development Foundation is one example of a\u00a0partnership initiative combining the forces of the private sector and non-governmental organisations for the common good. It is also a\u00a0desire to\u00a0show that involvement in\u00a0such activities benefits not only the community, but is an integral part of sustainable business development.<\/p>\n

\u201cUntil now, we\u00a0had to\u00a0deal with old equipment, where the waiting time for test results exceeded two hours. At\u00a0the moment, thanks to\u00a0the purchased equipment, we\u00a0can reduce this time to\u00a09 minutes. Shortened waiting time gives us the opportunity to\u00a0make a\u00a0diagnosis and save these animals right away \u2013 <\/em>says Marzena Chojnacka, President of the Management Board of the Foundation for the Development of the University of Gda\u0144sk.<\/p>\n

Known primarily as\u00a0a\u00a0tourist attraction, visited annually by\u00a0over 300 thousand. The Seal Centre in\u00a0Hel is also a\u00a0scientific centre and a\u00a0place that cares about the health of the seal population. The Marine Station located here. Professor Krzysztof Sk\u00f3ra of the University of Gda\u0144sk in\u00a0Hel runs a\u00a0rehabilitation centre that helps animals in\u00a0need of care and treatment. His patients are mainly seal puppies, which, after being cured, fed and made sure that they are ready to\u00a0live in\u00a0the wild, are released back to\u00a0the Baltic Sea.<\/p>\n

The Baltic coast is a\u00a0region where Budimex implements many investments important for the Polish economy and local communities. One of them is the construction of the T3 terminal in\u00a0Gda\u0144sk. The investment will increase the potential of Gda\u0144sk as\u00a0an important trade hub in\u00a0the Baltic Sea. The expansion of the complex will increase the handling capacity to\u00a04.5 million 20-foot containers per year. This means that T3 DCT Gdansk will be\u00a0one of the largest container terminals in\u00a0Europe. The project is scheduled to\u00a0be\u00a0completed in\u00a0the second quarter of 2025.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0November this year. Budimex has started the construction of an installation terminal for offshore wind farms. As\u00a0part of the contract for over PLN 118 million, the company will build the first in\u00a0Poland and at\u00a0the same time one of the most modern installations of this type in\u00a0Europe.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
