The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways and the Agreement for Safety in\u00a0the Construction Industry have signed a\u00a0declaration of cooperation. Its aim is to\u00a0work together to\u00a0improve work safety in\u00a0the implementation of infrastructure investments, servicing and maintenance of existing roads.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Agreement for Safety in\u00a0the Construction Industry and the General Directorate for National Roads and\u00a0Motorways have committed to\u00a0building an OHS culture through continuous improvement of OHS management systems on\u00a0ongoing projects and the development of a\u00a0common strategy of activities, including guidelines to\u00a0increase the level of safety on\u00a0construction sites. Both sides will now appoint expert teams that will develop a\u00a0detailed scope of cooperation and a\u00a0schedule of activities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to\u00a0reduce dangerous incidents on\u00a0construction sites to\u00a0a\u00a0minimum. Thanks to\u00a0cooperation with\u00a0an organization associating general contractors, we\u00a0can do\u00a0it even more effectively. Cooperation in\u00a0such an important issue is the basis of success<\/em> \u2013 says Tomasz \u017buchowski, acting General Director of National Roads and Motorways.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Signing the declaration is actually a\u00a0formality, because we\u00a0have been working together for safety on\u00a0construction sites for some time now. We\u00a0hope that one of the effects of our cooperation will be\u00a0the development of safety guidelines that will be\u00a0helpful at\u00a0all stages of the construction process <\/em>\u2013 says Jacek Leczkowski, President of the Agreement for Safety in\u00a0Construction. \u2013 Work safety is one of the fields in\u00a0which the cooperation of all parties implementing construction projects is necessary. I\u00a0hope that our partnership will be\u00a0a\u00a0model example of cooperation with public institutions for other industries: fully organized, transparent, contributing to\u00a0the development of the sector<\/em> \u2013 adds Jacek Leczkowski.<\/p>\n

The Agreement for Safety in\u00a0Construction promotes a\u00a0culture of safety on\u00a0construction sites through the implementation of standards, including the introduction of systemic solutions in\u00a0the field of health and safety and educational and training activities. The organization prepares videos, manuals and training for construction workers. Posters with guidelines on\u00a0protection against coronavirus were published m.in.\u00a0by\u00a0GDDKiA. \u201d In\u00a0addition to\u00a0improving safety on\u00a0roads and engineering structures, in\u00a0this term of office we\u00a0want to\u00a0focus on\u00a0procedures related to\u00a0work at\u00a0heights and vertical transport of materials<\/em> ,\u201d says Jacek Leczkowski, President of the Agreement.<\/p>\n

The declaration of cooperation between the Agreement for Safety in\u00a0Construction and the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways was signed during a\u00a0meeting of the Covenant\u2019s steering committee, i.e. a\u00a0body composed of the presidents, vice-presidents and CEOs of the signatory members. In\u00a0addition to\u00a0the President of the Agreement for Safety in\u00a0Construction, Jacek Leczkowski, and the acting General Director for National Roads and Motorways, Tomasz \u017buchowski, it was also attended by\u00a0the General Director\u2019s Counsellor \u2013 Tomasz Kwieci\u0144ski, Director of the OHS Division in\u00a0the ERBUD Group \u2013 Bartosz Wi\u015bniewski and Micha\u0142 Wasilewski, coordinator of the Agreement for Safety in\u00a0Construction.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
