A\u00a0consortium of Budimex and KZN Rail has signed a\u00a0contract with Koleje Ma\u0142opolskie for the construction and equipment of technical facilities for the operation of rolling stock in\u00a0Krak\u00f3w. The task will be\u00a0carried out in\u00a0the \u201cDESIGN and BUILD\u201d formula. The completion date is scheduled for 18 months from the date of signing the contract. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The area on\u00a0which Budimex and KZN Rail will operate has been leased from the PKP Group for 30 years. As\u00a0part of the contract, a\u00a0railway hall with dimensions of approx. 36m x\u00a0141m. This type of facilities can accommodate up to\u00a030 4- and 5-unit vehicles.<\/p>\n

The building will be\u00a0divided into four zones, in\u00a0which there will be\u00a0a\u00a0workshop and repair part,\u00a0 office and social part, a\u00a0warehouse and a\u00a0rolling stock wash. According to\u00a0the project, the necessary equipment and m.in will be\u00a0built in\u00a0the hall. water supply, sanitary, central heating and air conditioning installations. In\u00a0the immediate vicinity of the car wash, the construction of an industrial wastewater treatment plant with a\u00a0capacity of about 5 dm3\/s is planned.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0part of the project, the railway traffic control network as\u00a0well as\u00a0power and telecommunications networks will be\u00a0modernized. On\u00a0the side of KZN Rail, the entire track system will be\u00a0rebuilt, including the installation of 16 turnouts, enabling efficient movement of trains along the entire siding.<\/p>\n

The particular importance of the investment for the development of agglomeration railways was emphasized by\u00a0the Minister of Infrastructure, Andrzej Adamczyk, who was present at\u00a0the signing of the agreement. No\u00a0wonder, because modern and functional maintenance facilities, although invisible to\u00a0the passenger, remain a\u00a0guarantee of the reliability of the rolling stock and the high quality of the carrier\u2019s services.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The construction of a\u00a0service centre for a\u00a0railway carrier is the first investment of this type by\u00a0Budimex. However, the company has many years of experience in\u00a0running railway projects. She completed m.in.\u00a0modernization of LCS Kutno on\u00a0the \u017bychlin \u2013 Bar\u0142ogi section with a\u00a0length of 18 km and is carrying out the reconstruction of the Port of Gdynia station worth PLN 1.8 billion gross. On\u00a0the other hand, KZN Rail carried out a\u00a0very similar order for Koleje Dolno\u015bl\u0105skie. Both companies have an extensive portfolio of jointly implemented projects, such as\u00a0the construction of the \u0141agiewnicka Route currently underway in\u00a0Krak\u00f3w or\u00a0the modernisation of the Nowa Huta Depot, where KZN Rail operates as\u00a0a\u00a0subcontractor for track works for Budimex. The companies have their own equipment to\u00a0perform railway works and specialized staff of engineers, thanks to\u00a0which they complete the won contracts on\u00a0time, guaranteeing the highest quality.\u00a0<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
