BUDIMEX SA was awarded the first degree prize in the \u201cConstruction of the Year 2019\u201d competition in as many as three categories. In the jubilee, thirtieth edition of the prestigious ranking, the Office Building was awarded. BIG in Krakow in the category \u201cOffice buildings\u201d, the Marki Education and Recreation Center (\u201cCultural, scientific and educational facilities\u201d) and the Arena Jask\u00f3\u0142ka Tarn\u00f3w sports and entertainment hall in Tarn\u00f3w (\u201cFacilities assessed individually\u201d). <\/strong><\/p>\n

The \u201cConstruction of the Year\u201d competition evaluates investments in 9 different rankings \u2013 from residential buildings, through commercial buildings, to industrial ones. This year, recognition in the category of office projects was won by, m.in, a modern and ecological building. BIG, distinguished by energy efficiency, which was implemented for Ghelamco Poland. The facility has four above-ground floors and a two-level underground garage, equipped with, m.in others, a bicycle parking lot with sockets for charging electric two-wheelers. The office building was built in the BREEAM system, which means that both at the design and execution level, the investment has been subjected to a strict assessment in terms of its impact on the environment. The cubic capacity of the entire investment is over 73 thousand m3, and its usable area reaches 10 thousand m2.<\/p>\n

\u2013 We are extremely proud that this year\u2019s Budimex facilities have been selected in the competition. \u201cConstruction of the Year\u201d is a unique distinction \u2013 the jury takes into account many criteria that we have been putting special emphasis on for years. Safety, good organization of work, ecological aspects and high quality are the assumptions that guide us in the implementation of all investments <\/em>\u2013 says Artur Popko \u2013 Vice-President of Budimex SA.<\/p>\n

The second awarded project is MCER \u2013 the most advanced public utility building in Poland. Thanks to the use of innovative technologies, the investment produces its own electricity, obtains water from rainwater and optimizes energy consumption in individual points of the facility on an ongoing basis. The resulting complex serves as an educational, sports, recreational and conference facility at the same time.<\/p>\n

\u2013 This is the fourth industry award granted to this facility. Previously, MCER won the PLGBC Green Building Awards, the Green Laurel of the Polish Chamber of Commerce and the Sports Facility of the Year 2019<\/em> \u2013 says Artur Popko \u2013 Vice-President of Budimex SA.<\/p>\n

Among the awarded investments completed in 2019 was also Arena Jask\u00f3\u0142ka Tarn\u00f3w. It is the second largest sports and entertainment hall in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. The three-storey facility has 4317 seats in the auditorium. The distinguishing feature of the project is the hybrid structure of the roof, on which 422 photovoltaic panels with a total capacity of 120 kWp were installed.<\/p>\n

The \u201cConstruction of the Year\u201d competition is organized every year by the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians in cooperation with the Ministry of Construction and the General Office of Building Supervision. Its aim is to select projects that stand out for their modern technological solutions, quality of work and safe working environment.<\/p>\n

Last year, Budimex SA won the \u201cConstruction of the Year 2018\u201d award in the \u201cindustrial and production facilities\u201d category for the construction of the multifunctional Nuctech factory in Koby\u0142ka.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n
