Budimex SA has concluded a\u00a0contract for the construction of a\u00a0section of the S1 Pyrzowice \u2013 Kosztowy route between Podwarp and D\u0105browa G\u00f3rnicza. The official signing of the contract with the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, Katowice Branch, took place on\u00a0September 11, 2020. The design and construction works are planned for 30 months (excluding winter periods).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Budimex has won the tender for the construction of an approximately 7-kilometre section of the S1 road in\u00a0the Silesian Voivodeship. As\u00a0part of the task, the general contractor will modernize the existing track of the road and adapt it to\u00a0the parameters of the expressway. Among other things, single-level intersections with transverse streets and pedestrian crossings with traffic lights will be\u00a0eliminated.<\/p>\n

Instead, four bridges, four viaducts and two footbridges will be\u00a0built. Service and access roads will also be\u00a0built, as\u00a0well as\u00a0noise protection and animal crossings. As\u00a0part of the task, Budimex will also build a\u00a0new Z\u0105bkowice junction and rebuild the existing Pogoria junction. The contract value is PLN 229.3 million net.<\/p>\n

The section from Podwarpie to\u00a0D\u0105browa G\u00f3rnicza is a\u00a0fragment of the so-called eastern bypass of the Upper Silesian Industrial Region. Ultimately, the 135 km long S1 expressway will connect the border with Slovakia in\u00a0Zwardo\u0144 with the airport in\u00a0Pyrzowice and the A1 motorway.<\/p>\n

Budimex has extensive experience in\u00a0the construction of infrastructure investments. Currently, the general contractor is carrying out m.in.\u00a0the S5 expressway on\u00a0the Ornowo \u2013 Wirwajdy section and the S7 on\u00a0the Modlin \u2013 Czosn\u00f3w route.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
