Budimex has signed a contract with the City of Rzesz\u00f3w and PKP SA at the Ministry of State Assets for the construction of an underground car park along with the reconstruction of the transport system, as part of the construction of the Rzesz\u00f3w Communication Centre and for the reconstruction of the Rzesz\u00f3w G\u0142\u00f3wny railway station building. The value of both contracts is nearly PLN 74 million. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Rzesz\u00f3w Communication Center is one of the largest investments in Rzesz\u00f3w. \u201d Budimex has extensive experience in the implementation of this type of projects, and we are glad that we will carry out such an important construction from the city\u2019s point of view, which will significantly improve the transport capacity of the entire agglomeration<\/em> ,\u201d comments Artur Popko, Vice President of the Management Board, Chief Operating Officer at Budimex.<\/p>\n

The contract signed at the beginning of February provides for the implementation of two tasks. As part of the first entitled. \u201cDesign and construction of the Rzesz\u00f3w Communication Centre\u201d \u00a0Budimex will build a one-storey underground car park with 110 spaces and a station square in the \u201cdesign and build\u201d formula. There will be m.in. road and pedestrian communication routes, entry and exit from the car park, bus stops and bus shelters, as well as elements related to the construction of the Intelligent Video Monitoring System and the Parking System ultimately connected to the Supervision Centre of the Rzesz\u00f3w Communication Centre. Construction works will begin at the beginning of 2022.<\/p>\n

Budimex will also be responsible for the reconstruction of the communication system from ul. Grottgera and Asnyka to ul. Bardowski. \u2013 The contract covers m.in. design and reconstruction of the bus terminus along with the delivery and installation of three new bus shelters, as well as design and construction of parking spaces for buses along ul. Bardowskiego and the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of ul. A. Asnyka from ul. Grottger<\/em> \u2013 adds Popko.<\/p>\n

Budimex will also rebuild the Main Railway Station, changing the function of some rooms in the building, renovating the entire facility and introducing structural changes inside the station. \u2013 In accordance with the recommendations of the Conservator of Monuments, we will preserve the current shape of the station and restore the modernist architecture of the fa\u00e7ade. An interesting element and at the same time a challenge will be the restoration of the clock placed on the corner and the inscription Rzesz\u00f3w G\u0142\u00f3wny on the gable wall of segment A on the basis of archival photos <\/em>\u2013 says Artur Popko. The general contractor will also deal with, among m.in, restoring the form of the original entrance portals from the side of the platform and the station square, and expanding the underground part of the building with an entrance hall (on level -1), which will connect the tunnel under the platforms, the station and the newly built underground car park. Budimex will carry out the modernization of the station in the design and build system. The value of both contracts is nearly PLN 74 million. \u00a0The completion of all works is planned by the end of August 2023.<\/p>\n

The Rzesz\u00f3w Communication Centre is another investment of this type carried out by Budimex. In 2019. the general contractor has completed the construction of the Communication Centre in Kielce \u2013 a modern and functional transport hub serving urban, long-distance and international transport. The investment was completed in January this year. Nominated for the most important European architectural award, the Mies van der Rohe. Budimex\u2019s portfolio also includes the construction of the S\u0105dowa transfer centre in Katowice, as well as works on the modernisation of railway stations, including m.in. in Bia\u0142ystok and Wroc\u0142aw. At the end of 2020. the general contractor also signed a contract for the construction of the Metropolitan Railway Station in Lublin.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n
