Budimex has completed work on\u00a0the revitalisation of the historic buildings of the former Monopol W\u00f3dczany. The opening complex is an important place on\u00a0the cultural and business map of \u0141\u00f3d\u017a, but also another such large project in\u00a0Budimex\u2019s portfolio of cubature projects. The facility has been nominated for the MIPIM Awards 2020! The investor is Virako sp. z\u00a0o. about. Grupa 5 Architekci was responsible for the project.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Construction works began in\u00a0February 2018. In\u00a0spring this year, when the facility will be\u00a0made available to\u00a0tenants, various service outlets, such as\u00a0restaurants and cafes, will be\u00a0built in\u00a0addition to\u00a0offices. In\u00a0the newly opened complex, visitors will also find an intimate square, green terraces on\u00a0the roof, as\u00a0well as\u00a0an art gallery, a\u00a0theater, a\u00a0toddler\u2019s club and a\u00a0kindergarten. An important element of Monopolis will also be\u00a0a\u00a0museum devoted to\u00a0the history of Monopol W\u00f3dczany. \u201cWhen creating Monopolis, we\u00a0used our many years of experience gained during the implementation of many large and innovative investments in\u00a0the field of cubature construction, both of a\u00a0business and cultural nature. The main assumption that guided us during the work was to\u00a0create an open and friendly, but also multifunctional space intended not only for entrepreneurs, but also fulfilling social and entertainment functions<\/em> \u2013 says Dariusz Blocher, President of the Management Board, CEO of Budimex SA.<\/p>\n

Where tradition meets modernity<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monopolis is a\u00a0complex of buildings located at\u00a0the intersection of the main arteries of the city \u2013 al.\u00a0Pi\u0142sudskiego and ul.\u00a0Kopci\u0144skiego, near the \u0141\u00f3d\u017a Fabryczna railway station. The basic assumption of the project was to\u00a0restore the cohesion of the entire post-industrial area of the Polmos Spirits Plant. Preparing the facilities to\u00a0perform new functions was as\u00a0important as\u00a0preserving their original appearance. The construction works entrusted to\u00a0Budimex were carried out in\u00a0two stages. In\u00a0the first one, the buildings of the former Vodka Monopoly were restored and adapted to\u00a0new functions. In\u00a0the second stage, the buildings gained underground garages, and the structure of the A3 building was also rebuilt.<\/p>\n

Investment in\u00a0numbers<\/strong>
Monopolis will ultimately comprise 23,400 sqm of class A\u00a0offices, located in\u00a0the main building of the former vodka bottling plant (7,000 sqm) and two new buildings (8,050 and 8,350 sqm). At\u00a0the moment, the total usable area of buildings B2, B3B4, B5B6 as\u00a0well as\u00a0the gallery and museum is 14,500 m\u00b2, of which office space is 6,000 m\u00b2. The facility will be\u00a0BREEAM certified, at\u00a0a\u00a0very good and excellent level, which means that all technological and construction solutions used in\u00a0Monopolis are aimed at\u00a0creating a\u00a0comfortable and friendly working environment, optimizing operating costs and reducing negative environmental impacts.<\/p>\n

Monopolis nominated for MIPIM Awards 2020<\/strong>
Monopolis has been nominated for the MIPIM Awards 2020 in\u00a0the multifunctional category This is the most prestigious global competition in\u00a0the real estate industry in\u00a0the world. Monopolis was among the top four investments in\u00a0the world, along with Singapore, Montreal and Bangkok.<\/p>\n

Budimex, as\u00a0a\u00a0leader in\u00a0the construction industry, has made many investments for business and culture. The most important projects completed by\u00a0the company include, among others, a\u00a0modern office building.
