Budimex has commissioned a\u00a0nearly 8-kilometre section of the S7 expressway on\u00a0the section from Skar\u017cysko-Kamienna to\u00a0the border of the Mazowieckie and \u015awi\u0119tokrzyskie voivodeships six months before the contract deadline in\u00a0May 2020. The new section of the S7 connected Skar\u017cysko Kamienna and Kielce with Gr\u00f3jec near Warsaw on\u00a0an uninterrupted expressway. The investor is the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways. The investment is co-financed by\u00a0the European Union.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The investment carried out by\u00a0Budimex includes not only a\u00a07.6 km section of the S7 route, but also 14 km of service and access roads. In\u00a0addition, the bypass consists of 10 bridges and 5 culverts. Construction work began in\u00a0October 2017.<\/p>\n

Every day, 400 employees and 130 equipment units were involved in\u00a0the implementation of activities on\u00a0the construction site. \u201cThe work went very smoothly and without any disruptions<\/em> \u2013 says Artur Popko \u2013 Vice President of Budimex and Director. Budownictwa Budimex SA. The completion of the investment will allow the closure of the S7 expressway from Gr\u00f3jec to\u00a0the border with the Ma\u0142opolskie Voivodeship, i.e. on\u00a0a\u00a0section of approx. 200 km, while bypassing Skar\u017cysko Kamienna. This reduces travel time and improves traffic safety<\/em> \u2013 adds Artur Popko.<\/p>\n

Road works:
\u2022 Excavations, embankments and the entire structure, including bituminous masses on\u00a0the main route, were completed in\u00a0full;
\u2022 To\u00a0date, the contractor has carried out approximately 2,000,000 m3 of earthworks and 135,000 tons of bituminous mass.<\/p>\n

Bridge works:
\u2022 A\u00a0total of 30,000 m3 of concrete and 4,000,000 kg of steel were built.<\/p>\n

Road cross-section \u2013 2 roadways with 2 lanes each (2\u00d72), ultimately 2\u00d73 lanes
Lane width \u2013 3.5m
Width of emergency lanes \u2013 2.5m
Width of the dividing strip \u2013 12.0 m (including reserve for 3 strips 2\u00d73.5m = 7m)
Max. Load \u2013 115kN\/axle<\/p>\n

Budimex is constructing every fourth kilometre of an expressway or\u00a0motorway in\u00a0Poland. This year, the company also plans to\u00a0put sections of the S17 and A1 into service. In\u00a0recent months, Budimex has completed another important section of the S5 route between Wroc\u0142aw and Pozna\u0144.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
