Work is being carried out on\u00a0all Budimex construction sites. Problems related to\u00a0the coronavirus \u2013 as\u00a0a\u00a0force majeure event \u2013 still have a\u00a0low impact on\u00a0the company\u2019s operations and \u00a0the performance of construction contracts. The vast majority of Budimex employees work normally: directly or\u00a0remotely. Compared to\u00a0the previous week, there is a\u00a0limited, but still greater problem with access to\u00a0subcontractors and some materials.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to\u00a0thank the commitment of employees and subcontractors in\u00a0this difficult time \u2013 especially those on\u00a0construction sites\u201d <\/em>\u2013 says Dariusz Blocher \u2013 President of Budimex SA. \u201cWe want to\u00a0continue the work while maintaining all safety rules\u201d\u00a0 <\/em>\u2013 adds Blocher. \u00a0We\u00a0have already mobilised additional funds for the purchase of further epidemiological protection measures from all possible sources. Like all other companies, we\u00a0have a\u00a0big problem in\u00a0providing the right amount of disinfectants and masks, because there are not enough of them in\u00a0Poland. \u00a0We\u00a0must also bear in\u00a0mind that the health care system now needs them in\u00a0the first place. We\u00a0will respond appropriately to\u00a0ensure the continuity of the company\u2019s operations in\u00a0such a\u00a0way as\u00a0to\u00a0minimize the risk of spreading the coronavirus flu,\u201d <\/em>says Dariusz Blocher.<\/p>\n

No\u00a0COVID-19 coronavirus infection has been found among Budimex employees. Only a\u00a0few people are currently in\u00a0quarantine.<\/p>\n

Material and raw material logistics are working as\u00a0planned on\u00a0most construction sites. Polish raw materials are available. Major problems during deliveries are currently occurring only on\u00a0a\u00a0dozen or\u00a0so construction sites. The delays mainly affect components from Germany, Italy, Spain, China and Asia.\u00a0 Most suppliers cooperating with these countries signal that they are currently unable to\u00a0deliver products on\u00a0time. This applies, for example, to\u00a0elevators or\u00a0escalators.<\/p>\n

At\u00a0the same time, Budimex is itself involved in\u00a0helping in\u00a0the fight against the epidemic.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be\u00a0involved in\u00a0the fight against the effects of the epidemic. As\u00a0a\u00a0construction company operating in\u00a0our market, we\u00a0feel obliged to\u00a0provide support in\u00a0this difficult time. We\u00a0want to\u00a0help in\u00a0the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, in\u00a0saving people\u2019s lives and health. We\u00a0are involved in\u00a0the initiative \u201cWe are together. We\u00a0help\u201d. We\u00a0will donate a\u00a0total of PLN 1 million for the purchase of medical equipment so needed now in\u00a0infectious disease wards in\u00a0hospitals. In\u00a0addition, we\u00a0are ready to\u00a0support the organization of a\u00a0field hospital, if necessary. And he\u00a0adds: \u201cWe cannot be\u00a0indifferent, we\u00a0just have to\u00a0help\u201d <\/em>\u2013 says Dariusz Blocher.<\/p>\n

The development of the disease in\u00a0the coming weeks may significantly affect access to\u00a0some employees, both own and subcontractors, and thus slow down the work. In\u00a0the short term, we\u00a0expect the interruption of the foreign supply chain on\u00a0several percent of our construction sites and a\u00a0reduction in\u00a0the availability of employees \u2013 mainly subcontractors and from abroad.<\/p>\n

The current situation, along with negative development, may affect the timeliness of construction projects, about which Budimex informs our customers and investors on\u00a0an ongoing basis. If the current state of affairs persists in\u00a0the long term, it will have a\u00a0negative impact on\u00a0all construction sites carried out by\u00a0Budimex and the pace of construction production in\u00a0Poland.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
