Another Safety Day, organized as\u00a0part of the Hello ICE program, took place in\u00a0Warsaw\u2019s Wawer district. The children\u2019s favorite \u2013 Budi the tiger handed out reflectors and ICE cards, led students across the road and took part in\u00a0various educational games. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

From the early hours of the morning, Budi led students heading to\u00a0lessons through a\u00a0dangerous pedestrian crossing in\u00a0the vicinity of Primary School No. 128 in\u00a0Warsaw.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

With the mascot of the Hello ICE program, a\u00a0Siberian tiger named Budi, the children could feel safe. Equipped with an orange vest and a\u00a0large \u201cSTOP\u201d sign, the hero was visible to\u00a0drivers from afar. Drivers slowed down when they saw a\u00a02-meter tiger on\u00a0the road, and children eagerly grabbed the friendly ambassador of the program by\u00a0the paw. In\u00a0addition to\u00a0Budi, a\u00a0representative of the fire brigade also told the children about road safety and more, to\u00a0whom the children could also ask questions that bothered them.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

During the Safety Day, there were also employees from Budimex, which is the originator and organiser of the Hello ICE programme. They told the students about the safety rules on\u00a0the construction site. After the educational part, it was time to\u00a0play together with Budi, during which the \u201cHospital for Stuffed Animals\u201d returned, which was the hit of the first Safety Day, which took place in\u00a0September in\u00a0Pu\u0142awy.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Warsaw students received reflectors that they will attach to\u00a0their backpacks or\u00a0jackets. These simple gadgets are a\u00a0great way to\u00a0improve visibility on\u00a0the road. They also serve as\u00a0an information card on\u00a0which the guardians will enter their contact details. All this to\u00a0ensure the safety of children, especially in\u00a0the upcoming winter. Unfortunately, dusk comes faster and faster, and for more than two months of the year, some students come and go\u00a0from school when it\u2019s dark. This increases the risk of a\u00a0tragic accident, especially if the infrastructure surrounding educational institutions does not meet safety requirements.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

As\u00a0police statistics show, the number of road accidents with children as\u00a0pedestrians is decreasing every year. This is a\u00a0reason to\u00a0be\u00a0happy and an example that educational programs such as\u00a0Hello ICE fulfill their role. Greater awareness of threats and methods of preventing them is an opportunity for further, consistent reduction of tragic statistics. Although it is impossible to\u00a0completely eliminate accidents at\u00a0the current level of technical development, we\u00a0can influence the effects of unfortunate events and protect our loved ones through appropriate education.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
