\n A safety town, a first aid lesson and a joint training with the program ambassador Sebastian Mila. This is how Budimex summed up the first edition of the \u201cHello ICE\u201d programme, in which primary school students learned the rules of road safety for nearly six months. The grand finale of the campaign took place on December 10 at Primary School No. 6 in Gdynia. <\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

Nearly 300 dangerous places around schools marked on the program map, over 1000 distributed reflectors and as many as 8 safety lessons \u2013 these are the numbers describing the first edition of Hello ICE \u2013 a new version of the ICE Intercom program, which the company has been implementing since 2009. The Grand Finale was full of emotions, learning and fun, which are the inseparable elements of HELLO ICE. <\/p>\n

\u2013 We know how important it is to educate about traffic rules from an early age, so we decided to refresh our current program and develop it. The past five months have clearly shown us that both the goal and the chosen tools work. That is why we will continue the program to continue teaching children how to behave safely both on and off the road. In addition, through an interactive map, we identify dangerous places near Polish schools in order to draw the attention of local authorities to them, and in the future to eliminate them<\/em> \u2013 explains Katarzyna W\u00f3jcik, an expert on Budimex communication.<\/p>\n

The Grand Finale was a day full of emotions. It was started by Budi the tiger, who from the very morning led the students of the Gdynia primary school through the pedestrian crossing at the school. Such a beginning was a pleasant surprise for everyone. Then the children took part in a show by firefighters who presented the equipment of a fire engine and talked about how to behave in the event of an accident. The lesson was also attended by Budiemks engineers, who presented the safety rules applicable on the construction site to the students.<\/p>\n

Later, it was time to put the acquired knowledge into practice in four arranged zones: sport, fun, education and competition. In the hospital for stuffed animals, children consolidated the principles of first aid, in the safety town the knowledge of road signs, the rules of creating a corridor of life and how to behave in dangerous situations on the road. At the end of the event, the students received a safety code containing the 10 most important rules of movement on the road and the key element of the program, i.e. reflective ICE cards (giving the opportunity to enter contact details to their guardians) and allowing to increase visibility on the road.<\/p>\n

A great surprise for the youngest was the meeting with the ambassador of the Programme, Sebastian Mila, a former footballer of the Polish National Team. Thus, the grand finale could not miss the sports competition, which\u00a0gave everyone a lot of emotions.<\/p>\n

\u2013 It is encouraging that programs are being created that teach children the most important rules of the road in such a friendly way. For us \u2013 parents, the safety of children is particularly important, so I am glad that I could support the HELLO ICE project. I believe that today\u2019s final was a valuable lesson for the students, which they will remember forever.<\/em> \u2013 says Sebastian Mila, ambassador of the Hello ICE program.<\/p>\n

\n Five months of action for five <\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

\n

During the five months of the programme, Budimex organised 8 safety lessons. On the campaign\u2019s website: www.helloice.pl has created downloadable lesson scenarios for teachers, and quizzes and puzzles on safety for parents and children. In addition, an interactive map has been created \u00a0on the website, on which everyone can mark dangerous places around the school, which will be used to develop a White Book of Safety with recommendations on how to eliminate such \u201cblack spots\u201d. Nearly 300 such points throughout Poland have already been marked on the map.<\/p>\n

\n Even more attractions <\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

\n

The first edition was an undoubted success, which shows how important the topic of the program is. The HELLO ICE! (In Case of Emergency) is addressed to students of grades I-III of primary schools and aims to expand their knowledge of safety on the way to and from school. The key element of the campaign is an interactive map on which everyone can mark a dangerous place on the route of students to school and educational materials for teachers, children and parents posted on the website. The Hello ICE programme has received the honorary patronage of the Minister of Infrastructure and the Minister of National Education.<\/strong><\/p>\n
