A key element of the digitalization of the construction industry is Building Information Modelling (BIM), which makes a significant contribution to improving the efficiency of construction planning and execution. <\/strong><\/p>\n

BIMERR complements and extends the functionality of BIM with tools supporting the process of energy renovation of residential buildings. Budimex SA will be the leader of one of the stages of this international, innovative project. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Goals related to the response to climate change are being formulated all over the world. The research presented in the m.in reports. The International Energy Agency indicates that buildings are the most significant \u201cconsumers\u201d of energy in the European Union, which are attributed with almost 40% of its total consumption, as well as high CO2 emissions \u2013 nearly 36%. Improving energy efficiency in the built environment can therefore be a way to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in Europe.\u00a0 According to the Energy Roadmap 2050, published by the European Commission in 2011, the majority of residential buildings in Europe are over 50 years old and have an overall improvement in their energy efficiency with a low renovation rate of around 1% per year.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Technological solutions <\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the main factors influencing the slow pace of energy modernization of buildings is the unavailability of their digital models, which makes it much more difficult to plan, estimate or calculate the efficiency of work. The aim of the BIMERR project is to develop a package of tools that will enable the creation of improved digital models of existing residential buildings.<\/p>\n

BIMERR assumes the development of Scan-to-BIM technology, using smart glasses
and augmented reality (AR). Thanks to this, in addition to geometric data, digital models of residential buildings will be able to be supplemented
Including. o characteristics of materials and components that affect energy efficiency, data on energy consumption, as well as how they are used. Another innovation of BIMERR will be an algorithmic extension, giving the possibility to analyze those patterns of behavior of building residents that affect energy consumption. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The project also involves the creation of additional applications supporting BIM. The first of them, Renovation DSS (RenoDSS), will be dedicated to designers of energy modernization of buildings and property managers. It will allow you to assess the possibilities of renovation, e.g. in terms of replacing heating systems, insulation materials or windows. It will also make it easier to estimate the impact of modernization on the economic indicators of the building. The second application is Process
& Workflow Modelling and Automation (PWMA). It will be used to simulate the renovation process at every stage, from preparation to execution.<\/p>\n

The tools will work synergistically and will allow for the creation of more accurate models of information about buildings. Extended digital modeling process
will certainly bring greater possibilities for the use of BIM and will translate into higher efficiency of energy renovation planning of buildings in terms of quality, time and costs.<\/p>\n

Tests in Poland and Spain<\/strong><\/p>\n

The solutions developed within BIMERR will be tested in real conditions. For this purpose, two residential buildings will be selected, requiring energy modernization. The research will be carried out in Poland
and Spain \u2013 due to differences in construction regulations, standards of construction of buildings using different components, different heating, ventilation or air conditioning systems. Budimex SA, the leader of the test implementation stage, and Ferrovial Agroman, will independently develop BIM models that will be used to assess the performance of BIMERR tools. This will create a set of guidelines
and guidelines to improve the innovation package.<\/p>\n

European project<\/strong><\/p>\n

BIMERR is an international undertaking, financed by EU funds, under the Horizon 2020 program. The project involves 16 consortium members \u2013 companies and scientific units from 10 European countries, such as: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Greece, Spain, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Great Britain and Italy.<\/p>\n

The project started in January 2019 and is scheduled to end in September 2022. The value of the subsidy is EUR 6,933,320.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The BIMERR consortium consists of: BOC Asset Management GmbH (AT), Budimex SA (PL), Conkar SA (GR), Ethniko Kentro Erevns Kai Technologikis Anaptyxis (GR), Extergy Ltd (UK), Fraunhofer Gesellschaft zur Foerderung der Angewandten Ferschung E.V.
