On\u00a024 April 2019, Budimex SA signed a\u00a0general contracting contract for the Research and Development Centre of PKN ORLEN in\u00a0P\u0142ock. In\u00a0the future, the R&D Centre will carry out research and development activities related to\u00a0the refining and petrochemical industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The main function of PKN ORLEN\u2019s new investment. in\u00a0P\u0142ock, activities related to\u00a0the implementation of new technical solutions and work on\u00a0new products and technologies are to\u00a0be\u00a0carried out. The center, with a\u00a0total of approx. 8500 m2 of usable area, will also work to\u00a0improve and optimize the processes and products already underway. Therefore, the complex of buildings included in\u00a0the R&D Centre must meet the requirement of high technological advancement, adapted to\u00a0the research specificity of the refining and petrochemical industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn a\u00a0plot of 4.3 hectares, we\u00a0will build a\u00a0total of 7 buildings, including m.in.\u00a0an office building, a\u00a0technical building with a\u00a0laboratory, a\u00a0mapping and piloting hall and an external warehouse with a\u00a0fuel mixing installation. We\u00a0are also responsible for creating the road system for this investment,\u201d says Dariusz Blocher, President of Budimex SA.<\/p>\n

The EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) formula obliges Budimex SA not only to\u00a0design and construct the R&D buildings, but also to\u00a0equip them. The company will also take care of the commissioning of the supplied equipment, m.in.\u00a0measuring and laboratory equipment that allows m.in.\u00a0conducting analytical tests on\u00a0the properties of refining and petrochemical products. This group also includes an installation for preparing fuel mixtures (gasoline and diesel oil) and two engine dynamometer stations for testing the differential properties of fuels.<\/p>\n

This is not the first investment that Budimex SA will carry out in\u00a0P\u0142ock. In\u00a0the years 2012 \u2013 2014, the company built the Corporate Services Center office building in\u00a0the city for the P\u0142ock Industrial and Technological Park. In\u00a02017. The construction of a\u00a0multi-chamber reactor installation for the decarbonisation process along with the infrastructure has been completed. It was carried out for the same investor, also in\u00a0the EPC formula. Budimex SA in\u00a0P\u0142ock is also still involved in\u00a0the modernisation of the tanker treatment plant of the PKN ORLEN production plant, for which the contract was signed in\u00a0February 2017.<\/p>\n

The company has 18 months to\u00a0work at\u00a0the R&D center. The deadline for commissioning the investment provided for in\u00a0the contract is the end of 2020.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
