\n Budimex SA is the winner of the 22nd edition of the \u201cBenefactor of the Year 2019\u201d competition. The company was recognized in\u00a0the \u201cEducation \u2013 large company\u201d category for building the first \u201cPuszczyk\u201d Forest Primary School in\u00a0Poland, located in\u00a0Osowicze, near Bia\u0142ystok. <\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

The organizer of the competition for the title of \u201cBenefactor of the Year\u201d is the Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in\u00a0Poland. It is the largest and longest running competition of this type in\u00a0Poland. For 20 years, it has been awarding socially responsible companies. In\u00a0this year\u2019s edition, its jury selected winners in\u00a07 categories: local development, corporate foundation, education, ecology, social assistance, health and sport.<\/p>\n

\u2013 The title of \u201cBenefactor of the Year\u201d is a\u00a0unique distinction for Budimex, especially since corporate social responsibility is an extremely important sector of our activity. For years, we\u00a0have been focusing on\u00a0helping children, so we\u00a0are very happy that it was the \u201cTawny Owl\u201d project that won the recognition of the competition jury <\/em>\u2013 says Dariusz Blocher, President of Budimex SA.<\/p>\n

The jury awarded the company for its cooperation with the Trzy czte ry! Foundation, under which the first forest primary school in\u00a0Poland was established. It was the foundation that submitted Budimex to\u00a0the competition. \u2013 Thanks to\u00a0Budimex, we\u00a0were able to\u00a0make our dreams come true, to\u00a0prove that there is an alternative to\u00a0traditional school. To\u00a0show that the role of the teacher must be\u00a0redefined. As\u00a0labour market research shows, what we\u00a0lack is not knowledge, but soft skills: cooperation, openness to\u00a0change, the ability to\u00a0listen to\u00a0the other side, assertiveness. This is what we\u00a0want to\u00a0teach our children above all <\/em>\u2013 said Agnieszka Kudraszow, president of the foundation and originator and founder of the forest school, during the gala.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n Design selected in\u00a0the jubilee competition<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

In\u00a02018, Budimex SA celebrated the 50th anniversary of its operations in\u00a0the industry. On\u00a0this occasion, the company organized a\u00a0competition for a\u00a0social initiative that could significantly improve the quality of life of the local community. Budimex undertook to\u00a0select the winning design and implement it. At\u00a0that time, the company received nearly 250 reports m.in.\u00a0foundations, associations or\u00a0social organizations. The jury of the competition \u201cChange the world. Budimex 50 years\u201d selected the project of creating infrastructure for the first forest school in\u00a0Poland from among all applications.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n Budimex focuses on\u00a0CSR<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

Corporate social responsibility is a\u00a0strategic element of Budimex\u2019s operations. In\u00a0addition to\u00a0occasional CSR competitions, the company \u00a0runs two permanent projects at\u00a0the same time \u2013 \u201cParent Zone\u201d and \u201cICE Intercom\u201d. As\u00a0part of the first of them, Budimex creates comfortable places for the youngest patients and their parents to\u00a0spend time together in\u00a0hospital children\u2019s wards. So far, 29 such spaces have been created. The ICE intercom, in\u00a0turn, is a\u00a0program that increases the safety of children on\u00a0the roads. \u2013 We\u00a0have been implementing it for 10 years and during this time we\u00a0have equipped 33 thousand people with accessories for personal and communication safety. children from 334 schools.
