\n Meetings, first aid and rescue demonstrations, visits to\u00a0construction sites \u2013 as\u00a0every year, Budimex SA was actively involved in\u00a0the Safety Week initiative promoting the idea of safety on\u00a0construction sites. Over 5100 employees took part in\u00a0over 214 various events organized by\u00a0the company.<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

The originator of the action is the Agreement for Safety in\u00a0Construction, which was created as\u00a0a\u00a0bottom-up initiative of several general contractors. They all had one goal in\u00a0common \u2013 to\u00a0minimise and ultimately completely eliminate accidents on\u00a0construction sites. \u201cThe May Safety Week is always a\u00a0special event for companies in\u00a0the industry and their employees. We\u00a0meet on\u00a0the sites of our investments to\u00a0talk together about activities that can help us avoid accidents. It is also a\u00a0time when we\u00a0make everyone aware that the responsibility for safety at\u00a0work rests with each and every one of us to\u00a0the same extent,\u201d says Dariusz Blocher, President of Budimex SA.<\/p>\n

\n Slogan 2019 \u2013 \u201cDon\u2019t take shortcuts. Never!\u201d<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

This year\u2019s edition of the Safety Week was held under the slogan calling for conscientious compliance with health and safety rules and always acting in\u00a0accordance with the developed standards. \u201cNo time saving is worth risking your life and health. This is what we\u00a0wanted to\u00a0convey in\u00a0this year\u2019s edition of the event. As\u00a0Budimex, we\u00a0have engaged as\u00a0many as\u00a0457 subcontractors in\u00a0activities and activities on\u00a0construction sites, and we\u00a0have involved 99 partners and institutions in\u00a0the organisation. It was m.in.\u00a0Police, Fire Brigade, technical universities, emergency medical services and the National Labour Inspectorate. Each of the people taking part in\u00a0the action is a\u00a0potential life saved,\u201d explains Urszula Gawrysiak, Director of the Occupational Safety and Environmental Protection Office at\u00a0Budimex SA.<\/p>\n

\n Meeting, workshops, demonstrations \u2013 what happened on\u00a0construction sites<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

As\u00a0part of the Safety Week, Budimex prepared a\u00a0series of meetings and workshops with OHS experts for employees, during which they had the opportunity to\u00a0learn m.in.\u00a0first aid, or\u00a0update your knowledge about safety. On\u00a0the other hand, people interested in\u00a0the work of rescue services could take a\u00a0close look at\u00a0specially organized shows. \u201cBudimex never forgets about the youngest, which is why we\u00a0have also invited local schools and kindergartens to\u00a0celebrate the Safety Week. Children in\u00a0many towns had the opportunity to\u00a0visit construction sites and learn how to\u00a0take care of their safety,\u201d says Urszula Gawrysiak.<\/p>\n

The construction site is a\u00a0very demanding place to\u00a0work. Sometimes a\u00a0moment is enough to\u00a0make a\u00a0serious mistake for which you have to\u00a0pay with your health or\u00a0life. It is important that OSH does not remain just a\u00a0theory, but a\u00a0common and constantly applied practice. \u201cOn construction sites carried out by\u00a0Budimex, special attention is paid to\u00a0protective clothing, compliance with health and safety rules and supervision of work in\u00a0this respect. We\u00a0want to\u00a0achieve a\u00a0zero result in\u00a0terms of accidents, and our annual participation in\u00a0the Safety Week brings us closer to\u00a0this goal,\u201d says Dariusz Blocher.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
