\n On\u00a020 July, the A4 Rzesz\u00f3w East \u2013 Jaros\u0142aw motorway section was officially opened, the last section of the A4 built by\u00a0the Budimex \u2013 Strabag consortium. It will provide a\u00a0single motorway route allowing for a\u00a0direct connection with Germany and Ukraine. <\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

The A4 motorway is part of the route running from Western Europe to\u00a0Ukraine, located in\u00a0the Third Trans-European Transport Corridor. The road runs from the border crossing with Germany in\u00a0J\u0119drzychowice, through m.in.\u00a0Wroc\u0142aw, Opole, Katowice, Krak\u00f3w, Tarn\u00f3w, Rzesz\u00f3w up to\u00a0the border crossing with Ukraine in\u00a0Korczowa. The primary task of the motorway is to\u00a0provide a\u00a0quick and efficient connection in\u00a0international traffic in\u00a0the east-west direction. The history of the A4 dates back to\u00a01936. when the first section of the motorway in\u00a0its current course was put into service. The total length of the A4 motorway in\u00a0Poland is approx. 670km.<\/p>\n

\u2013 We\u00a0are glad that Budimex, as\u00a0the leader of the consortium, had the opportunity to\u00a0construct the last missing section of the A4 motorway Rzesz\u00f3w \u2013 Jaros\u0142aw. This is a\u00a0historic event, as\u00a0for the first time drivers have at\u00a0their disposal one stretch of the longest motorway in\u00a0Poland, ensuring a\u00a0comfortable journey from the western to\u00a0the eastern border of the country,\u201d \u00a0says Grzegorz Domaradzki, Regional Director of Budimex SA. <\/em><\/p>\n

The contract works included the construction of the A4 motorway with accompanying infrastructure (technical, structures and construction equipment) on\u00a0the section from km 581+263.44 to\u00a0km 622+463.44, i.e. over a\u00a0length of 41.2 km. At\u00a0the peak of the Continuation of Construction by\u00a0the consortium, approx. 600 manual workers, operators, drivers, approx. 190 employees of technical supervision and approx. 350 hardware units (including operators). The area of the motorway (647 ha) corresponds to\u00a0an area of approx. 774 football pitches and the embankment of the main route amounting to\u00a08,000,000\u00a0\u00a0m3<\/sup> (including approx. 500,000\u00a0m3<\/sup>) is\u00a0 approx. 560,000\u00a0cars filled with embankment, which would form a\u00a0queue with a\u00a0total length of about 7,600\u00a0km.<\/p>\n

The motorway, taking over most of the transit traffic from DK 4, will improve its capacity, which is particularly important in\u00a0the case of the surrounding built-up areas. Less traffic will improve the safety of pedestrians and cyclists, but also reduce the risk of accidents. What is more, it will significantly improve the condition of the m.in environment. thanks to\u00a0animal crossings, planting protective greenery or\u00a0a\u00a0tight rainwater drainage system.<\/p>\n
