\n June 23, 2017 the cornerstone was laid for the construction of the air traffic control tower in\u00a0Pyrzowice, which will be\u00a0the highest facility of this type in\u00a0Poland.<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

The Minister of Infrastructure and Construction, Andrzej Adamczyk, the President of the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency, Janusz Niedziela, the President of the Upper Silesian Aviation Society, Artur Tomasik,\u00a0 and the President of Budimex SA, Dariusz Blocher, signed the foundation act for the new tower and laid the cornerstone for the construction.<\/p>\n

The Katowice Airport control tower will be\u00a0the tallest facility of this type in\u00a0Poland. In\u00a0a\u00a046-meter building on\u00a0an area of over 1800 sq. m. There will be\u00a0a\u00a0room with tower control and approach control stations, technical and garage rooms and social facilities. A\u00a0system of internal roads with parking lots will be\u00a0built around the tower. The operational level is located at\u00a0a\u00a0height of 42 m. The new tower is located in\u00a0the south-eastern part of the port and will replace the old, \u201conly\u201d 23-meter tower.<\/p>\n

The layout of the building consists of two elements. The low part is a\u00a0two-storey building with a\u00a0post-and-wall structure. The second part, 45.75 m high, contains a\u00a0shaft built as\u00a0a\u00a0vertical support with a\u00a0rectangular cross-section with a\u00a0separate elevator passage and installation shafts inside. The core is secured by\u00a0a\u00a0foundation slab, while in\u00a0the upper part of the shaft, the ceilings of the main part of the tower are supported on\u00a0horizontal supports. The tower is crowned with a\u00a0steel roof.<\/p>\n

The fa\u00e7ade of the tower was designed from an aluminum composite panel. An electric lift with a\u00a0shaft and a\u00a0shaft top without a\u00a0machine room will be\u00a0installed in\u00a0the shaft, adapted to\u00a0the requirements of rescue teams.<\/p>\n

The new tower in\u00a0Pyrzowice will be\u00a0ready at\u00a0the beginning of 2018. The contract value is PLN 20.22 million net.<\/p>\n

The Katowice tower is an investment in\u00a0the safety of air traffic and the improvement of its flow, and above all, it will become one of the infrastructural showpieces of the Silesian Voivodeship.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n
