\n June 14, 2016 The Mayor of Lublin, Krzysztof \u017buk, will hand over Litewski Square, modernised and expanded by\u00a0Budimex SA, to\u00a0the residents. The main attraction of the square will be\u00a0the multimedia fountain park, which in\u00a0the early 70s. of the last century, it was entered into the register of monuments.<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

Tomorrow\u2019s symbolic opening of Litewski Square will be\u00a0combined with two evening multimedia shows, prepared especially for the Jubilee of the 700th anniversary of granting Lublin city rights.<\/p>\n

Litewski Square occupies approx. 35 thousand m.kw. The basic assumption of the revitalization was the elimination of vehicular traffic on\u00a0the main communication route of the city. The spatial layout of the Square has been preserved, which has two garden spaces and an open recreational central part with a\u00a0fountain. In\u00a0the central part of the square, in\u00a0the place of the old fountain, an interactive complex of water devices was created with the possibility of organizing multimedia shows. Seven linear fountains with a\u00a0spiral fountain were built in\u00a0the axis of the Krakowskie Przedmie\u015bcie promenade. The main part of the square was paved with slabs and granite cubes. The layout of green areas has also changed through new islands of greenery.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0part of the investment, Budimex also replaced all installations, built a\u00a0fence for the meteorological station, revitalised the areas adjacent to\u00a0Litewski Square \u2013 Kr\u0105pieca Square and Czechowicz Square, and moved the Monument to\u00a0the Unknown Soldier to\u00a0a\u00a0new location.<\/p>\n

The works were carried out from April 2016. The net value of the contract was over PLN 42 million.<\/p>\n

The archaeological works accompanying the construction works allowed to\u00a0discover many relics of the past, partly related to\u00a0the development of the city, but also much ahead of its creation. The remains of various residential and farm buildings from the Middle Ages were found and many traces of craftsmanship were identified. Archaeologists have also uncovered relics of old roads, and examples of the surfaces used can be\u00a0seen in\u00a0the so-called \u201cWindow of Time\u201d \u2013 an underground chamber covered with a\u00a0glass pane, which was located in\u00a0the place where historical roads were discovered.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n
