In\u00a0this year\u2019s edition of the competition, five investments completed by\u00a0the Budimex SA Group won the title of \u201cConstruction of the Year 2016\u201d, four first-degree awards and one second-degree prize.<\/strong>\n          <\/p>\n<p>PZITB awards investments that are distinguished by\u00a0modern technological solutions, high quality of works, good organization of the construction process, as\u00a0well as\u00a0a\u00a0high level of ensuring work safety and environmental protection. A\u00a0particular reason for satisfaction is the fact that the construction projects carried out by\u00a0Budimex meet these criteria, and that individual teams on\u00a0contracts have achieved outstanding implementation results.<\/p>\n<p>The title of \u201cConstruction of the Year 2016\u201d (first degree award) was awarded to\u00a0the following projects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>POLMLEK Production Plant in\u00a0Lidzbark Warmi\u0144ski, in\u00a0the category: production, trade and service facilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The construction required a\u00a0non-standard approach in\u00a0terms of design and execution. In\u00a0order to\u00a0coordinate the technology designs provided by\u00a0an international team of designers, BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology was used to\u00a0prepare optimal building solutions.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Business Garden Wroc\u0142aw (first stage), in\u00a0the category: office buildings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The investment is characterized by\u00a0modern offices with energy-saving solutions. The device systems used in\u00a0the buildings are to\u00a0ensure thermal comfort, increase the amount of fresh air in\u00a0the rooms and control the access of daylight, as\u00a0well as\u00a0reduce water and electricity consumption.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lublin Conference Centre in\u00a0Lublin, in\u00a0category: public buildings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is a\u00a0representative building with unusual individual technical solutions, such as\u00a0double-layer glass facades with a\u00a0prestressed tendon structure made of stainless steel, or\u00a0the fa\u00e7ade of the internal rooms of the \u201ccocoon\u201d finished with spatial arched ceramic panels.<\/p>\n<p>The general contractor for the above investments was Budimex S.A.<\/p>\n<p>The title of \u201cConstruction of the Year 2016\u201d (first degree award) was also awarded to\u00a0the G\u0142og\u00f3w Copper Smelter and Refinery, in\u00a0the category: industrial facilities. The general contractor of this facility was Mostostal Krak\u00f3w SA.<\/p>\n<p>The facility performs a\u00a0function related to\u00a0the smelting of copper concentrate. The modernized hall is multi-nave and multi-bay. The complex includes tall and high-rise buildings with separate reinforced concrete cores, where there are flash furnaces and electric furnaces, as\u00a0well as\u00a0metallurgical and transport equipment and necessary installations related to\u00a0their operation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The title of \u201cConstruction of the Year 2016\u201d (second degree award) was awarded in\u00a0the <\/strong><strong>category: for<\/strong><strong>individually assessed biekts \u2013 S7 Mi\u0142om\u0142yn \u2013 Ostr\u00f3da expressway (subsection A).<\/strong> The general contractor of the investment was the Consortium of Budimex S.A. and Ferrovial Agroman S.A.<\/p>\n<p>The investment included the construction of a\u00a09.4-kilometre section of the S7 dual carriageway expressway, together with technical infrastructure and traffic safety equipment. The entire investment was put into use 3 months ahead of schedule.
