\n In\u00a0January this year, Budimex announced a\u00a0project dedicated to\u00a0start-ups, \u201cBudimex innovations\u201d. Now it presents its first effects \u2013 a\u00a0proof of concept of intelligent lighting, implemented with Optical Electronics.<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n A\u00a0result that exceeded expectations <\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

Intelligent lighting fixtures, designed and manufactured by\u00a0the start-up, were tested. The assumption of the project was to\u00a0confirm the energy efficiency of the solution used \u2013 innovative sensors, thanks to\u00a0which natural lighting is maximized in\u00a0the office. The survey took place at\u00a0Budimex\u2019s headquarters in\u00a0Warsaw and lasted two months.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

All lamps were made in\u00a0the same LED technology, lit up with the same color, and had power supplies of the same power. However, half of them are equipped with the OptiMo sensor system. The installed modules enabled the autonomous operation of each luminaire and smooth replenishment of the emitted amounts of light to\u00a0the selected and most favorable number of lux \u2013 depending on\u00a0the lighting conditions in\u00a0the room and motion detection.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The result of the measurements exceeded expectations. For lighting without sensors, energy consumption was recorded at\u00a0the level of 228.94 kWh, and for lamps with sensors only 66.89 kWh. The use of innovative sensors in\u00a0lighting fixtures has resulted in\u00a0energy savings and thus costs of up to\u00a070%!<\/p>\n

<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

\n Working in\u00a0a\u00a0new light<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

Smart lighting is not only about economy. In\u00a0offices, where we\u00a0spend almost 1\/3 of our time, working conditions are important. Among many factors, lighting has a\u00a0significant impact on\u00a0the well-being, comfort and health of people who spend several hours a\u00a0day in\u00a0the office. Therefore, the voices of employees who participated in\u00a0the implementation of the proof of concept of smart lighting were important.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Since I\u00a0wear prescription glasses every day and work at\u00a0the computer, my\u00a0eyes are particularly sensitive to\u00a0artificial light. After replacing the lighting with smart ones, I\u00a0can literally see the difference. \u2013 says Emilia, Specialist in\u00a0the Recruitment Team. The light in\u00a0the office changes depending on\u00a0the daylight and dims when no\u00a0one is at\u00a0the desk or\u00a0reminds me\u00a0that I\u00a0have been working still for too long. The eyes do\u00a0not get tired as\u00a0with the previous ordinary light. Certainly, the comfort of work is better.<\/em> \u2013Adds.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n Cooperation with start-ups<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

Optical Electronics joined the \u201cBudimex innovations\u201d project thanks to\u00a0the KPT ScaleUp acceleration programme, run by\u00a0the Krakow Technology Park.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The proof of concept carried out with Budimex SA made it possible to\u00a0evaluate the effectiveness of lighting with OptiMo modules in\u00a0real office conditions. The method of remote measurement of illuminance, developed by\u00a0Optical Electronics, has been submitted to\u00a0the Polish Patent Office.<\/p>\n
