\n The contract worth almost PLN 45 million included the design and execution of construction works. As\u00a0part of the work, Budimex modernised the technical infrastructure of the substation, m.in.\u00a0turnouts and overhead contact line. As\u00a0a\u00a0result, its capacity has increased, and trains will be\u00a0able to\u00a0travel at\u00a0a\u00a0speed of 200 km\/h. <\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

The contract was part of the project \u201cModernization of railway line No. 4 \u2013 Central Trunk Line\u201d. Budimex started the construction of the investment in\u00a0November 2016.<\/p>\n

The most difficult was the completion of the first stage of the investment, scheduled for July-August 2017, which required the complete exclusion of this section from rail traffic. For this reason, Budimex had only one month to\u00a0carry out demolition and construction works. \u2013 Due to\u00a0the shutdown of traffic, nothing could be\u00a0delayed by\u00a0an hour, and for 32 days the activities had to\u00a0be\u00a0carried out around the clock. We\u00a0demolished overhead contact lines and built new turnouts, which arrived at\u00a0the construction site in\u00a03-part blocks. Thanks to\u00a0the excellent organization and the use of high-class railway equipment, we\u00a0kept these conditions and the traffic could be\u00a0resumed<\/em> \u2013 says Dariusz Blocher, President of the Management Board of Budimex S.A.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0part of the contract, Budimex carried out the reconstruction of the station\u2019s technical infrastructure, including m.in.\u00a0track surface, turnouts, overhead contact line and traffic control equipment. 12 modern turnouts with a\u00a0movable nose of the crossing have been installed at\u00a0the station \u2013 the same are equipped with high-speed lines, up to\u00a0250 km\/h.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Olszamowice Railway Station is a\u00a0very modern project \u2013 it is fully prepared for automatic control, without human participation. In\u00a0addition, it is equipped with, for example, video surveillance, and the switchboard has automatic fire extinguishing systems<\/em> \u2013 says Marcin Kope\u0107, contract manager of this investment.<\/p>\n

Although the Olszamowice station is not a\u00a0passenger stop, it plays an important role in\u00a0rail traffic. Its modernization allows to\u00a0increase the capacity of the CMK, on\u00a0one of the busiest railway lines in\u00a0the country. Thanks to\u00a0it, it will be\u00a0possible to\u00a0overtake freight trains by\u00a0passenger expresses, speeding at\u00a0200 km\/h.<\/p>\n

Budimex is currently implementing several key railway investments on\u00a0behalf of PKP PLK, such as: modernisation of railway line No. 7 on\u00a0the Otwock-Pilawa and Pilawa-D\u0119blin sections, modernisation of the E20 line on\u00a0the LCS Kutno section, modernisation of the Trzebinia \u2013 Krzeszowice section on\u00a0the Katowice \u2013 Krak\u00f3w line, modernisation of the Ring Line on\u00a0the Warszawa Go\u0142\u0105bki\/Warszawa Zachodnia \u2013 Warszawa Gda\u0144ska section, <\/strong>modernization of the Idzikowice station on\u00a0the Central Railway Station worth over PLN 1.5 billion. Budimex is the general contractor of completed and award-winning railway contracts, such as, m.in, the modernisation of LCS I\u0142awa, the Krak\u00f3w Zab\u0142ocie \u2013 Krak\u00f3w Krzemionki railway connection or\u00a0the Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
