\n Budimex has completed the construction of the important Krak\u00f3w tram terminus \u201cKurdwan\u00f3w\u201d ahead of schedule.<\/strong>
\n The works included, m.in.\u00a0reconstruction of the track and turnouts and construction of the overhead contact line. The finalization of this stage in\u00a0just two months was possible thanks to\u00a0the maximum commitment of the team and the creation of a\u00a0special brigade. Tram traffic is already running normally, which is important due to\u00a0the upcoming start of the academic year.<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

The construction site was handed over on\u00a0July 19. Initially, the works were supposed to\u00a0take several months, but thanks to\u00a0the great commitment of the entire team, the company brought them to\u00a0completion after only two months, The deadline for completion of the works was set for September 30. Despite the extension of the procedure for issuing a\u00a0decision permitting the implementation of this stage by\u00a0the authorities, Budimex managed to\u00a0complete the works a\u00a0few days before the deadline specified in\u00a0the contract. On\u00a0that day, the rebuilt tram terminus \u201cKurdwan\u00f3w\u201d P+R was accepted by\u00a0the commission and handed over to\u00a0the administrator.<\/p>\n

The works included, m.in.\u00a0reconstruction of the track at\u00a0a\u00a0length of approx. 643 linear meters (running meters), including the construction of a\u00a0new surface in\u00a0the ballastless technology, reconstruction of turnouts along the length of approx. 223 meters of linear metres, 2 pcs. of equalizing devices, 5 pcs. drives, 3 pcs. lubricators and the construction of 794 linear meters of overhead contact line with twenty poles.<\/p>\n

Tram traffic at\u00a0the terminus is now running smoothly, which is particularly important due to\u00a0the upcoming start of the academic year. \u2013 The \u0141agiewnicka Route in\u00a0Krakow is an extremely important investment for us due to\u00a0its strategic importance. Always cooperating with local governments, we\u00a0are very careful to\u00a0meet all deadlines. In\u00a0this case, despite some administrative postponements, we\u00a0managed to\u00a0complete the work at\u00a0a\u00a0very fast pace<\/em> \u2013 says Dariusz Blocher, President of the Management Board of Budimex S.A. \u2013 It is worth noting that the construction and reconstruction of the tram overhead contact line was carried out by\u00a0our company\u2019s own resources. The Traction Brigade was created specifically for this contract. <\/em><\/p>\n

Currently, work is continuing on\u00a0the remaining available sections. Activities carried out on\u00a0the further section of the tram line, which is ultimately to\u00a0reach ul.\u00a0Zakopane (including through a\u00a0tunnel with a\u00a0length of approx. 640 m) will not cause further difficulties in\u00a0the operation of the loop.<\/p>\n

The \u0141agiewnicka Route is an important investment for Krakow in\u00a0the coming years. This is one of the missing elements of the so-called III ring road of the city. As\u00a0part of it, 3.5 km of dual carriageway road will be\u00a0built, with tunnel sections and a\u00a0tram line (1.7 km) connecting the Kurdwan\u00f3w housing estate and Zakopia\u0144ska Street. In\u00a0addition, Budimex will build five tunnels, new road junctions, noise barriers, bridges over the Wilga River, footbridges, pavements and bicycle paths. The project also includes the development of above-ground areas (places above the tunnels and within the course of the investment), i.e.: plantings, Jordan garden, park-like development, sports facilities, playgrounds (\u201cDragon Squares\u201d), pedestrian and bicycle paths.<\/p>\n

The net value of the investment is PLN 652.19 million. The construction will last until 2020.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
