\n The consortium of Budimex, Strabag and ZUE has completed the modernisation of railway line No. 20 in\u00a0Warsaw for PKP PLK. A\u00a0m.in was made. 4 kilometres of railway tracks with a\u00a0new surface on\u00a0the Warszawa Zachodnia \u2013 Warszawa Gda\u0144ska section, together with the overhead contact line and 4 stops with shelters. Line No. 20 was opened on\u00a0the night of Saturday to\u00a0Sunday, October 20 \u2013 21. This is part of a\u00a0larger project that involves the modernization of the ring line in\u00a0the capital on\u00a0the sections Warszawa Zachodnia \u2013 Warszawa Gda\u0144ska and Warszawa Go\u0142\u0105bki \u2013 Warszawa Gda\u0144ska. Lines 507 and 509 are under construction. <\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

The implementation of this contract began in\u00a0February 2017 and its completion is scheduled for 2019. The consortium has already completed construction and modernization works on\u00a0line No. 20. The total value of this project is over PLN 169 million.<\/p>\n

The<\/strong> Warszawa Zachodnia \u2013 Warszawa Gda\u0144ska railway route is ready<\/strong><\/p>\n

4 railway stops with shelters were modernized and rebuilt, i.e. the Ko\u0142o, Warszawa Zachodnia, Wola and M\u0142yn\u00f3w stops. The latter is particularly important, because in\u00a0the future it will be\u00a0an important interchange connecting railways, trams and M\u0142yn\u00f3w \u2013 a\u00a0station of the planned next metro line. In\u00a0addition, 3 railway viaducts were rebuilt \u2013 over ul.\u00a0Obozowa Street, above ul.\u00a0Kasprzaka and over ul.\u00a0Wolska Street and the footbridge over ul.\u00a0G\u00f3rczewska. \u2013 The reconstruction of track systems on\u00a0routes and traffic stations includes m.in.\u00a0reconstruction of turnout heads, aimed at\u00a0increasing the speed of entries and exits. Thanks to\u00a0these changes, trains will be\u00a0able to\u00a0increase their speed on\u00a0this section from 40 to\u00a060 km\/h, but eventually, after the end of the entire contract, they will travel at\u00a0a\u00a0speed of 80 km\/h<\/em> \u2013 says Tomasz Kaliszyk, Contract Manager at\u00a0Budimex S.A. It is also worth mentioning the equipment of the rebuilt stations, which includes, for example, innovative lighting, numerous facilities for the disabled (elevators, escalators) or\u00a0the installation of a\u00a0CCTV monitoring system and technological communication devices (wired and radio).<\/p>\n

\n An unexpected find<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n

The time of modernization activities was extended by\u00a06 months due to\u00a0the discovery of several post-German bunkers located along the renovated route during construction works. The buildings from World War II, which were initially supposed to\u00a0be\u00a0demolished, were eventually entered into the register of monuments by\u00a0the provincial conservator of monuments. Another factor affecting the deadline for the completion of the investment was the need to\u00a0obtain additional permits from the City Hall regarding changes in\u00a0the organization of car traffic under the new viaducts. \u2013 These are just some of the elements that indicate the level of difficulty of this investment. As\u00a0a\u00a0rule, construction carried out in\u00a0the city center is complicated in\u00a0terms of organization, because despite intensive work, the city must function efficiently for its residents. However, we\u00a0are a\u00a0consortium composed of companies with extensive experience in\u00a0the implementation of railway projects, so we\u00a0have met this challenge <\/em>\u2013 says Dariusz Blocher, President of the Management Board of Budimex S.A., the consortium leader.<\/p>\n

Budimex also carries out other railway contracts, e.g. the modernisation of the Warsaw \u2013 Otwock \u2013 D\u0119blin \u2013 Lublin line or\u00a0the modernisation of the Katowice \u2013 Krak\u00f3w route, which lies on\u00a0the international corridor running from Germany, through Poland, to\u00a0Ukraine. Recently, the company has also completed the reconstruction of the Olszamowice station, as\u00a0part of which the technical infrastructure of the station was modernized, m.in.\u00a0turnouts and overhead contact line. Thanks to\u00a0the changes, the station has been completely adapted to\u00a0automatic control.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
