Budimex has signed a\u00a0contract for the reconstruction of the 160-year-old railway station in\u00a0Bia\u0142ystok with the investor \u2013 PKP S.A. The station will undergo a\u00a0thorough modernisation while maintaining its current shape.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The historic building of the former St. Petersburg-Warsaw railway has been inscribed since 1960. to\u00a0the register of monuments. The facility was built in\u00a01860. and is an example of neo-baroque architecture. The aim of the reconstruction is to\u00a0create a\u00a0high-quality passenger service space, covered by\u00a0clear and visually attractive information, fully adapted to\u00a0the use of the facility by\u00a0people with reduced mobility. An equal goal is the conservation of the existing historic substance of the building, with the emphasis on\u00a0architectural values after the restoration of the original character of the waiting room.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In\u00a0order to\u00a0ensure the continuity of the station\u2019s operation, a\u00a0temporary station will be\u00a0built during the construction works. The works will begin in\u00a0November this year. The completion of construction works will take place in\u00a0the first quarter of 2020. Budimex will cooperate with a\u00a0large number of local subcontractors in\u00a0the scope of this contract. The net value of the contract is PLN 29,470,000.00 million. The area of the facility is 2965.75 m2, while the cubic capacity is 23080.00 m3.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Budimex is the general contractor of m.in.\u00a0modernization of another famous historic railway station in\u00a0Wroc\u0142aw. It was rebuilt by\u00a0the largest Polish general contractor in\u00a0the years 2010-2012.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n
