The S7 Gda\u0144sk \u2013 Elbl\u0105g expressway, on\u00a0the Nowy Dw\u00f3r Gda\u0144ski \u2013 Elbl\u0105g section (Kazimierzowo junction), was put into service by\u00a0Budimex on\u00a0time on\u00a031 October. The route of just over 19 km is already open to\u00a0traffic.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The construction of the route started in\u00a02015 and was divided into two sections. The contractor of the second of them, from Kazimierz\u00f3w to\u00a0Nowy Dw\u00f3r Gda\u0144ski, was Budimex. As\u00a0part of the contract, the company built m.in.\u00a0two two-level road junctions: \u017bu\u0142awy East and Elbl\u0105g West. The gross value of the contract is over PLN 1.5 billion.<\/p>\n

Budimex signed a\u00a0contract for the construction of the S7 section in\u00a0October 2017. One of the largest undertakings on\u00a0the occasion of this investment was the construction of a\u00a0bridge over the Nogat River. \u2013 It is the longest structure on\u00a0this construction site, 595 m. We\u00a0made it using the sliding method<\/em> \u2013 says Jakub D\u0142ugoszek, Budimex Regional Director. In\u00a0addition to\u00a0two road junctions and a\u00a0bridge, Budimex also completed a\u00a0total of 4 structures, i.e.: bridges and viaducts over the expressway, in\u00a0order to\u00a0connect local traffic and 17 animal crossings.<\/p>\n

Extremely reinforced road<\/strong><\/p>\n

The section of the S7 road built by\u00a0Budimex is a\u00a0phenomenon on\u00a0a\u00a0national scale in\u00a0terms of the solutions used. \u2013 Each kilometer of the over 19-kilometer route has been reinforced with technologies, e.g.\u00a0 prefabricated drains, of which we\u00a0used a\u00a0total of 6 million running meters. We\u00a0have also built overloading embankments with 4 millionm3<\/sup> of soil. They are to\u00a0simulate the load that will take place when vehicles use this road. Their application generated subsidence, which would have occurred in\u00a0this area anyway, but thanks to\u00a0the embankments it was under our control. This makes the road even and safe <\/em>\u2013 explains Jakub D\u0142ugoszek.<\/p>\n

The S7 expressway will be\u00a0720 kilometres long in\u00a0total and will connect the Tri-City with Warsaw and then with the agglomerations of Radom, Kielce and Krak\u00f3w. Together with the A1 motorway, they will be\u00a0one of the most important roads leading to\u00a0the Baltic Sea. \u2013 The construction of the S7 is also an important investment in\u00a0the context of improving driving comfort and safety. The reduction of the number of single-level intersections in\u00a0favor of two-level intersections will significantly improve traffic flow. We\u00a0are proud that this is another such important road project in\u00a0our country, in\u00a0the implementation of which we\u00a0are taking part<\/em> \u2013 says Dariusz Blocher, President of Budimex S.A.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
